Getting OUT of mouse look mode?

Is there a way to set the key bindings so that keys (e.g., 'a' and 'd') turn my character (& view) INSTEAD of the mouse cursor? Mouse Look mode is horrible for some folks.

I want (need) to use my mouse to select things/people for examination or interaction, but I do NOT want the entire screen shot to jump around while I am moving the mouse. It is actually nauseating!!

PLEASE provide an alternative so the keyboard can be used for turning instead.

I have already adjusted the sensitivity, but unfortunately that is not a solution.

This one believes if you push [?] button on US keyboard, mouse look changes for cursor.

Nope. If you mean the question mark key, which is also shift-/, then all that does is put the cursor into the chat box, freezing the POV. It does not allow the character to turn (i.e., rotate body & POV in game) using the key board.

Still need a solution for this.

The game is based on aiming and having mouse look so no there isn't a way "out" of it. It plays more like a twitch FPS or past TES games in that regard.

Aiming is simply where I place my toon on the field and where I place my mouse cursor... mouse look mode is not unequivocally mated with aiming. I should not have to move my entire screenshot to aim. That is simply the implementation chosen by ZOS in this game.

Unfortunately, it is currently the only implementation, but it should not be.
And yes, still need a solution for this.

The key binding to swap from look to cursor is "." period. But once you start to move again, it goes back to cursor view. I myself like it, other MMO's I would have to hold the right mouse button the whole time while running so the camera follows, otherwise it won't turn until I click to do so. This just makes it easier on my mouse hand. Just speaking for myself. But go into the key bindings, there are a ton of bindings not set yet, see for yourself and if they will do it for you. Or I am sure someone will make an addon to allow more bindings of some sort. good luck.

Thank you for your comments. I can appreciate that some folks like the default.
I have played with the key bindings.

Since what is needed does require moving, the period is not a solution for us.
Have not found a solution which does work. ZOS needs to implement an alternate aiming & moving method which does not make me ill. Otherwise, the game is unplayable. :-(

The easiest is to allow turning with the keyboard instead of the mouse, while still using the mouse to aim.

This is the way movement works in Elder Scrolls games. How does that make this one unplayable? Many games have controls that work in this fashion.

IMHO mouse look is far superior, and if you work at it you will find it to be so as well. Think not that you are moving your screen, but instead turning your head.

I find the control scheme of this game FAR superior to other MMO's where you have a separate cursor while you're running.

If you hold down right click and move the mouse, while in cursor mode, the view will turn. I think you can then run in cursor mode, holding right click to change direction... not sure why you'd want to, though.

I second the motion for an alternate camera view.
Personally, I would like it to auto follow head direction, (you turn left the camera follows your head left, and so on.

Character movement in this game is somewhat annoying. Your character never turns to face the direction you are looking unless you move. You can only move the character forward. Going in and out of a menu can turn your character around in the world.

To change the keybind to get the mouse cursor while in-game is Controls>Keybindings>User Interface>Toggle in-game cursor and you can set it to whatever. It was period by default.
