slightly morbid discovery

silvermistktralasub17_ESO
I'd long known that once you complete Bala's quest in stonefalls, that you can meet her ghost just outside of the othrenis wayshrine. However, I hadn't really given much thought on the matter until I stopped to actually look at the corpse I had seen for ages and didn't understand just outside ebonheart. It seems that that's where Bala drowned herself after whatever news she got from you about the quest. You can actually see her name on the corpse there more or less across from Almalexia's shrine.

Some quests just sadly end in tragedy and you can't save them all... However I wish this one didn't. Bala deserved more than that jerk who broke her heart for fun... :(

There's a quest on Khenarthi's Roost where you can either give some books to the Khajiit or burn them. If you...
...burn them, everything is fine. If you give them to the Khajiit and then try to talk to her afterwards, she gets killed by the evil presence. Very sad. Always burn the evil books!

When I did the one about the mage's dead son in Grahtwood, I like to hear what each NPC had to say before making my choice, I thought the golem had something to say... OOPS!! I locked the kid into the Flesh Golem.

@Erris As a German, the burning of books is always going to bring back bad memories of the (historic) past. I was mildly shocked when the the Khajiit died just because I didn't burn the books.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

My first time doing that quest I didn't burn the evil books. I saw visions of people being attacked by Daedra, but when I picked the books up I was fine. I thought the ghost was lying to me. Sorry catwoman!

Honestly ZOS you've done a great job with quests. There's so many to cover, but they're all more emotional and interesting than the vast majority of Skyrim. They even give you roleplaying opportunities (Kill the captain to put her out of her misery, or let the poison draw it out and she'll suffer, Stros M'kai choice) where the end is the same, but it allows you to establish character and backstory. From memory, I'm pretty sure the only time you're able to roleplay is during optional conversations with Serana in the Dawnguard DLC! I've seen a lot of people in zone chat literally crying over some of the stories told in quests. Wonderful game!

Pact advocate in Grahtwood. When you collect evidence and condemn someone to death. That quest always bothers me.

Brings back the memories of captain Helane... when I first did the quest when Helane is poisoned by Kaleen your only choices were to cure her or let her die a slow death. It bothered me to no end and I was happy when I returned to ESO and they had added the option to put her out of her misery... :)

I'm usually against handholding but I actually like it when they give you the choice result in brackets in dialogue. I like to go for the 'good' result and ESO is really rigid; there is little in the way of taking back a dialogue choice. I still feel guilty for accidentally ordering the execution of people because I spammed 'e' too much in the dialogue when speedrunning the alliance war questline... :#

Reminds me of a quest in a delve in Malabar Tor where two brothers need help to get some medicinal herb. I pressed the persuade option instead of helping them and thought the ending would be the same. Instead, the brother did not get herbs for his dying brother and they limped out of there angry and disappointed in me. I felt like a monster :(
