Mage Light and Scorching Flare (Essence of Detection) Question: (PC / NA) or any

Hello, good day. And or depending on your time.

So I have a question. If any of us use any of those skills or potions, are players still able to vanish , never to be found? Or even the potion or Skill line Fighters guild "Expert Hunter"

How does it work?

So say someone vanished in front of you and the same second you drink Essence of detection or activate mage light. Does the player get revealed or not?

I do have more to say, add, or even give a scenario but for now I like to see what the basics are. You may pretend I know nothing about them. I just need a refresher.

Anyone have an answer for this? Because if not I suspect cheating and I'm just going to to start sending in videos of people that stealth as night blades right in that mix, and i know for a fact on my character, if I pop a stealth potion or even use even use shadow cloak it won't let me. So how exactly does the titles skills work? Are they dodgable skills or can you shield against them in order to stealth?

Mage light can revile them but it is hase its distant radious against stealth. brobably works against invisible as well

becasue i have seen a lot of time when some one is wanishing out of thin air people keep spamming mage light and that is revile them, im not sure about the invisible potion.

As teh tooltip says i think its only works in stealth. but also if you got a houted curse on you and it exploeds the invisible effect i think can be break. Im not sure about that too becasue when i hcurse an NB before they cloack thats diferent then invisible potion. So my answer is yeah against stealth it works fine as it should be.

against invisible potion? im not sure about that but you can ask some one to duel with you and test out teh therory if mage light breaks the invisible potion or not.

If the skills and potions are working as intended, then even using invisible pots and or using skill shadow cloak, then being revealed that person should not be able to cloak again for a small duration.

And if that said, is correct, the players that are revealed, hit by mage light again but disappear, only to be revealed when they make an attack then cloak again instantly even with mage light in front of their faces is very suspicious.

If and when I find these people again I'm going to record it and, make the video private by invite only and send it right to zenimax. Because Definitely, something is just not right.

As a Nightblade who probably over-uses cloak in PVP, I have encountered that I can use stealth with an increased movement speed, and hit an opponent with concealed weapon when they use the reveal on Magelight/Inner Light, but not Radiant Magelight (Increased radius).

It seems dumb that I can do that, and I think the detection radius is too small on Magelight, Inner Light, and Expert Hunter + Morphs.

Detection Potions seem to be a hard counter to the "miss" that cloak causes, however it still surpresses DoTs. It should also be noted that Detection Potions are a buff on you, not a debuff on them. So it does not "reveal" them to your team, you simply have enough vision to see them when they are invisible.

If invisibility-counters fail to reveal someone who is supposed to be within detection-range and in your line of sight, then there`s two options that I can think of.
1. Nightblade used shadow image ability to teleport to his/her shadow that was out of your sight. That`s probably most common thing to happen when nb vanishes despite invisibility being countered with detect pot etc.
2. Psijic ultimate undo. More rare, but still plausible option. If your target was far enough and maybe somewhere behind you 4 seconds ago and used undo, he moved back there and possibly out of your sight. Successful escape that could look like he vanished despite your detect pot.

If by vanish you mean turn invisible, the those skills should reveal them and undo the invisibility.
If by vanish you mean use shadow image to teleport away then no. It's entirely possible that a NB would reactivate that skill to port away and then cloak making it extremely hard to find and kill him after that even with those skills.

I have Radiant Magelight slotted all the time on my PvP character and I've used it alot!

They still go invisible, disappear from sight, but reappear a moment later. So, they're able to enter stealth, and the quick vanish is still very disruptive, but I find them a second later. I am a Magplar with no damage though so all I can do is reveal them when they're trying to escape and hope my allies kill them

To clarify, I play with a bit of lag but I try to stay directly on top of them the whole time, so even my lag can't account for 12M of distance. Whether I activate Radiant Magelight while they're in stealth or preemptively, they still disappear from sight (even though the tooltip states that should be impossible...) for a second before their cloak wears off early.

It's a very wonky ability! Doesn't seem to be working perfectly.
