It would be really nice if there was a mechanic to make use of earlier level recipes and materials as currently there's little point to them other than selling them.

Crafting home furnishings.
  1. You could have it that a small amount of material is used to craft unique home furnishings - these because of the extra cost could be a little "fancy boyish" XD

Crafting meals.
  1. Maybe have dailies where you provide food to the needy or something.
  2. Similar to the enchanting system if you take three recipes (not learn but the physical recipes) and combine them, they can offer variety of furnishings, depending on combinations you use.

    I don't understand what you're getting at for the first point. What does this have to do with crafting or furnishings?

    So its similar to a diagram just a little different.

    e.g.

    green quality diagram for a cooking pot = creates a standard cooking pot

    green quality diagram for a cooking pot + 50 iron = makes a standard cooking pot with a better iron texture on it. etc

    swimming in vanilla motif books (and max level green food/drink recipes but can vendor trash these at least)
    would be nice if they could maybe be added to some new furnishing recipes ~
    toss in X book and i don't know, change the colour or something...?
