No buff-ally skill in the game feels powerful and impactful, imo--and there aren't really that many buff-ally skills in general.

Maybe combat prayer--it has a nice animation, a skill-shot component, and has a decent effect.

I'd say the best ones I've used would have to be Enchanted Growth or Combat Prayer. Enchanted growth a decent heal and gives stamina and magicka regeneration to those affected by it. Mixed with combat prayer they become the perfect cone heal.

I love Purifying Light because it is neat and fun. A damage multiplier and HoT for those close to the boss like the tank.

As nice as combat prayer sounds, I find it frustrating instead of fun and no longer slot it. Too hard to keep allies positioned within a single cast area and too expensive to spam all over the area, too short to be worthwhile (8 seconds is a joke), the dps boost of 8% is unimpressive unless used on very powerful damage dealers.

in dungeons buffs doesn't matter. Cut last boss hm timer for 10-15 seconds with ton of buffs (assuming DPSers are good), does it really worth it?

So if you apply Combat prayer on two DPSers with total damage of 50K, they start doing around 56k damage. Pff. Just pff.

My healer do 40-50% group damage in trash fights (ton of AoE) and 28-33% in boss fights, casting BoL from time to time. This is way better support than Prayer (though i have SPC) and insane babysitting overhealing. Only in some fights like Darkshade Caverns 2 last boss i slot meta healer skills due to heavy dots...

Another situation in trials and vet DLC, though topic starter again and again didn't state for what content his question.

I like the aesthetic of Purifying Light, and the synergy is really good. Purge would be a close second if it didn’t cost an arm and a leg.

    Honestly? None of them really.

Heals like Honor the Dead feel impactful and useful, but in terms of actual buffs, I dont enjoy using any of them really. Stalwart Guard is an ability I want to love as a tank, but the double-slotting and the link breaking make it feel really frustrating to use.

Most of the ones that I WOULD enjoy using are locked behind wonky synergy activations. Specifically thinking of Bone Shield and Storm Atronach.

It's not hugely impactful, but I like that casting my Empowered Ward boosts my homies' magicka regen a bit, without me needing to specifically target them or anything.

SPC is satisfying to buff allies with, due to the sound and the visual effects. Oh, and the extra damage too, I guess. ;P

The werewolf Howl that grants allies the new Empower buff is pretty good too, when they can get the synergy to work. The visual effect is nice as well.

Rapid Maneuvers probably takes the cake for powerful and immediately impactful group buff, though. At least, until an ally thinks about almost any ability too hard and the buff goes away before it can be of any use. Getting people around the battlefield quickly is super important; I wish this skill worked more like an aoe Expedition potion -- as in, the buff didn't go away. Even if it only lasted ~8 seconds, an unbreakable Expedition would be preferable to an instantly wasted one that "could last" 30 seconds, to me.

    What's wrong with the synergy?

Nothing's wrong with it, aside from the same issue with all single target synergies and ability procs on a single target (like the DK whip proc, as an example); It can be hard to actually hit the synergy in the chaos of a tight battle if there are multiple targets because the prompt / window of opportunity is impossibly small sometimes. Which happens a lot in a 4 pack of WW, since you're all up in melee range. This might be more of a problem for me than others though, since I most often am experiencing moderate to severe lag.

The most prominent skill I can think of that has this issue is the Radiate synergy from Inner Fire. That synergy pops on a target that's moving, and if you don't hit it within .03 seconds, too bad. If the enemy gets too close to you, or you briefly untarget & retarget said enemy, no synergy for you.

These would probably be my top "that's cool" buff skills:
    • Living Vines
    • Nature's Grasp
    • Mend Wounds
    • Obsidian Shield
    • Magma Shell

If I had to pick just one, Mend Wounds would probably be my top "that's awesome" skill. Closely followed by Nature's Grasp and Living Vines. All three of those are fairly challenging healing skills to use at times, but oh so fun!
