✭✭✭✭✭Well if you are on pc you can press Return or Enter to get into the text field. You can also press the period key to enable mouse mode so you can select the text box among other things.
To speak to the people in your immediate area use
/s
To speak to people in the zone map use
/z
To speak to people in your group
/g
To whisper someone use
/w @theirname Your message
There are a few other commands but those are the basics.
To invite someone you can right click their name in chat. If they are in front of you, you can use the “Press F to interact” and roll through the circle of options. Once you are in a group with someone press P to see the “party” aka group window. Right clicking on names gives you options like “Travel to Player” which is helpful (most people will say “Port to me”, this is what they mean). The last way to invite someone is to type /invite @theirname

AnonomissX✭✭✭✭If you are on the Xbox, and you want to be able to type faster, you can:
1) Use a USB keyboard
2) on Android or Iphone download the Xbox app. Connect to the same network (wireless) as your Xbox, hit the menu at the upper left, choose console, and connect. When you enter any text box on the console, it will open a text box on the phone/tablet and you can type there (pretty cool)
3) If you have Windows 10, open the xbox app, sign into your xbox account and make sure your computer is on the same network as the xbox. Look for the console icon on the left, hovering will show 'connection'. Connect to your xbox, and you can do the same as above.
