Jewelry that cannot be deconstructed

I see a lot of rings on guild traders that people want to offload that cannot be deconstructed.

I understand why the decon restriction exists, people no doubt had enough rings / amulets to hit close to level 50 from the get go, but can it be changed to, 'this item can be deconstructed but offers no XP'? That way these old rings and amulets will eventually be removed from the game via decon as people can use them for mats.

You mean like right click and select 'destroy'?

If that gave me a chance of a mat, yes.

Jewellery crafting has been released months ago. Why not just remove this restriction? Not much reason to maintain it.

    ...is annoying.
I mean, I can see why they did it, to make people -work- for their jeweler ranks... but... its still annoying, and I really hope that someday, like for example at the one-year anniversary of the summerset release, they will do away with the restriction and make all jewelry equal again!

It is not as simple as just removing the tag, I believe the old rings / amulets are associated with a motif. They have styles, where new ones are style-less. They'd need to remove the tag and the motif from all the old rings. They have clearly redone the ring/amulet drops, it is like every jewelry item that dropped after Summerset was an entirely new item that can be deconn'd with the same name.

If the old rings / amulets are a defunked copy, it is probably better to just have them deconned as it may cause more problems later on with future updates.

Decon to get mats at least would be nice. I have so many taking up bank space from sets I prob no longer even need. And some that I could actually use, but cannot upgrade.

I'm thinking you don't, since you're still expecting mats.

Just vendor them. Those that don't sell will eventually get vendored outright. The ones from sets that people still use still have value beyond the vendor, just not decon value.

There are only decon restrictions for old jewelry. There are no improvement or transmute restrictions.

You can't even see Jewlery on your character and were never able to, they weren't tied to a style - besides if that were the case why are we then still able to upgrade our Jewelery from before? It obviously works within the current system just fine. I feel like your theory is just wrong, sadly. The only reason it's like this is because ZOS didn't want people to use stockpiled Jewelery from over 3 years of time.

This doesn't rid the servers of them. They are often only rid when someone inattentive (for whatever reason) buys one, thinking they can decon it, only to be disappointed. Sometimes that leads to a destroy but other time it's put right back on the market for the next poor unfortunate soul.

I Agree. This restriction was only made so players don't reach crafting level 50 on day one, which most people have already done by now.

I've bought dozens now because on console the UI only shows the warning at the very bottom of an items description - you cannot readily see it when browsing the store... you have to scroll through EVERY piece manually to check. To my understanding this isn't an issue on PC - but it is for the wretched console UI.

Inattentive is exasperated by this. Nobody trying to bulk buy Jewlery has time to check 100s of listings 1 by 1.

old jewelry does have styles. It may have been with an addon that showed it on the item card, but it is info within the game.

And that has zero relevance to anything.
