Guild Trader Idea: Acquisitions

I'm wanting to propose an idea for an additional ability for Guild Traders: Acquisitions

Posting acquisition requests would work very similar to listing an item for sale, only in reverse. You would be posting an item you'd like to buy as well as setting your desired price and quantity. Anyone viewing that guild trader could check for acquisition requests and if they had the item and liked the offer, could complete the transaction.
  • The person posting the transaction has to provide the gold to the guild trader up front. They would get the gold back, minus fees, should the listing be canceled or time out.
  • Guild traders would still get the same percentage cut of completed transactions. It would be automatically taken out of the gold posted.
  • Those viewing the guild traders acquisition tab would only see the final gold value offered (ie it would already have all vendor fees calculated, so they would know exactly how much gold they would get from the transaction).
  • Much like how current listings are limited to 30 per member, Acquisition listings should also be limited. Perhaps 10 per member would be appropriate?

Again, it would work just like current item listings in all ways, only backwards. It would complement the current guild trader system very well by providing a counterbalance to price fluctuations. Rather than throwing random mats in a guild vendor hoping for a bite, players would instead have the option of browsing acquisitions for orders of items they might already have. For example, on NA PC Kutas have risen a little recently. Its getting harder and harder to find them for 2k and below with the standard now closer to 2.2k ea. With an option like Acquisitions, someone could post a listing for say 50 units at 2k each which others could then view and decide if they liked the offer. It could open up a whole new market of middlemen who could browse between various stores item listings and request listings, looking for good deals, while allowing posters to easily find materials they commonly use.

I would like to note that deals like this can be currently made in Zone chat, but the more buying/selling chatter taken off of Zone, the better, as its just spam to the majority of players.

Again, its just an idea, and one I doubt would ever be implemented, but I still wanted to throw it out as I felt it would add quite a bit to the current system. What are your thoughts on it? Any constructive counterpoints, issues missed that it might cause, or other complementary ideas to add?

And kindly don't derail the discussion with any off topic/unconstructive "guild traders bad" talk; there are already plenty of discussions out there on that topic where it would be more appropriate. Its ok to not like the idea, but such posts should please have constructive reasons why the idea isn't liked.

No new crafting or game systems for 2019? "Season of the Dragon" would be better named "The Year of no New Major Features"

From what I can tell, the Trader aspect of ESO guilds is to allow guild members to sell unwanted items. That's it.
It's not about maximising profit; or trader-only guilds. Those are player inventions.

There's plenty of discussions out there where this issue gets raised time and time again, along with this sort of response:

Kindly give it up. If they were going to make any significant changes, it would be done by now.

Selling unwanted items is exactly the point of the original idea. As stated in OP, rather than tossing them in your guild trader, hoping for a bite, you could choose to view trader acquisitions looking for requests of items giving you a new way to sell your unwanted items. Rather than only having one way to do it, you'd then have two.

That seems like an amazing idea, wish ZoS payed attention to the forums at all besides occasionally telling people to keep discussion's civil. it would make things so much easier.
