Warden Builds

Hi Guys
I don't know if this post is in the right place but here goes. I know a lot of you guys are not Warden fans but I was wondering which was the best. I have had my Warden quite a while and in the past week I have actually been enjoying the class. I have seen the video's Alcast and others have been putting up and the Warden looks pretty impressive, but I normally just do general pve questing etc, and wanted to know which is best...Stamina or Magicka, atm I am a Stamina Warden but keep hearing that Magicka is the way to go. I can't do the builds that Alcast does because all his gear is from dungeons etc and not being in a guild I have to just use crafted armor which I can do myself. I am I gues looking for a Magic build that's viable with crafted weapons and armour.
Thanks for reading

    Just PvE questing ?

Anything works. If you had fun past week keep doing what you did.

Atm i play stamina with daggers and bow. I played magicka too. One of the fun/lazy builds was 5 fortified brass heavy, five Thunderbug from the guild mechands and loot and crafted weapons from Torug. Two swords with dagger visuals and a Resto on the backbar.

With this build basically you just stand there and cast Ice Fortress and Winter's revenge. Maybe some sort of heal once in a while. There are many builds.. explore them to find your build.

For PvE damage dealer stamina wardens are very strong in murkmire patch. Magicka warden on the other hand is rather weak damage wise.

I play Stamina Warden (dw/bow) both in dungeons, vet dungeons (DLC and otherwise) and also while questing and exploring.

It is a very fun, and versatile build. World Bosses are for the most part quite easy to solo, and I really enjoy the playstyle.

My friend plays a Magicka Warden, she only does solo questing and exploring, and she finds that gameplay to be extremely enjoyable as well.
In the end, it comes down to personal preference/how you view your character. If you like the ranger/beastmaster archetype, go stamina. If you like the druid/spinner archetype go magicka. Either way, if you enjoy Warden gameplay, you will enjoy yourself.

From a purely meta/min-maxing standpoint, Stamina Wardens are in a better spot globally. Strong DPS in PVE and PVP, and the upcoming patch only expands our utility. Magicka Wardens may be at the bottom of the barrel as far as DPS goes, but they are still fun to play.
If you are looking for basic build ideas, Alcast has a beginner gear setup for all his builds. It is almost exclusively crafted gear, so shouldnt be a problem for you to pick up.

Yeah since the "bear nerf" patch notes I've started levelling up the wearwolf ultimate for my stamden and to be honest I'm really enjoying it.

Unless you had built around using the bear in which case you are worse off.

Magicka necropotence and Julianos is all you need. It is a pet class after all

    Yup.
I started as a Magden, but rededicated to a Stamina build once I became a werewolf.
I'm still new and still in the midst of leveling a character to 50 for the first time, so I'm still learning the skiils, which now includes re-learning what works best now that I've switched to Stamina.

I received my WW bite either Thursday or Friday night of last week and spent the weekend leveling-up the Werewolf skill line; I hit level 10 Sunday afternoon just as I hit level 25 character level.
    It is crazy fun!

Edit: As much fun as I'm having with the werewolf so far, I would kill for a werebear skill line.

If you run just PVE overland content I think you don't need to focus that much on builds etc. Builds are fun because it gives you goals and then satisfaction when you complete them. Of course good build will let you go through harder content.

Overland questing is so easy, even normal dungeons you really don't need anything special.

My main character is Magicka Warden 500 CP. I run Burning Spellweave set with Necropotence. I use Valkyn Skoria monster set. I don't use bear.

Of course I'm not getting record top dps but who cares? I can do most of the content I'm interested in and thats all that matters.

So as long as you are happy it means its a great build:)

Warden is one of the most relaxing classes to LEVEL a stamina build with. You get a stamina-based heal other than the PvP skill Vigor, and you get a ranged attack that doesn't rely on a bow.

That said, all classes have a better variety of magicka sklls than stamina ones. Warden just has a smaller gap in that respect than other classes do.

I enjoy wardens quite a bit, I have two dps wardens one magicka which is my main the other is stamina. Both are hitting pretty equal dps at this point.

My magden gear: 5pc master arch, 5pc necropotence, 2pc skoria.

My stamden gear: 5pc relequen, 5pc hundings rage (trying to get 5pc ravaging atm, my stamden is still kinda new), 2pc selenes but enjoying 2pc velidrith more.

While most of my gear is from trials and group dungeons you don't have to be in a guild to run dungeons or trials. Hang out in craglorn and when you see people looking for a "ncr farm" jump in as dps. Ncr is very easy once you know the few mechs related. As for dungeons use dungeon finder and pug up with some randoms on normal. As for monster sets, which head pieces only drop from final boss in vet dungeons it might be better to practice that dungeon on normal until you have a basic understanding on how the dungeon works then pug up for that too OR you might get extremely lucky and find your head piece from the Golden Vendor in Cryodiil. To get monster shoulders you have to obtain keys from the Undaunted Pledge givers, when you complete their pledge they'll reward you a key. With that key you can open one of three chests which contains a set of shoulder pieces from a monster set.

If you don't wanna group for anything, then you're gonna be limited to what you can craft and purchase from traders, WHICH IS COMPLETELY FINE, just know if you want better gear, you'll have to join with other people and do dungeons and/or trials.

Thanks for the replies guys, I know general pve is easy and all that but just fancied doing something new. I use stamina atm but just fancied trying a magicka warden. I was more interested in the best crafted armour as I don't do dungeons atm as I don't like pugging and never have, and also noticed quite a few wardens playing magicka. At a guess I would of thought that the best crafted armour would be Seducer but not into stats etc and have no idea what works best. With medium armour I usually just go Hundings Rage.

    Thanks again

The magicka Version of Hundings Rage is Law of Julianos. Same stats, just in magicka and magical power. Crafter location is south-west of Wrothgar and called Boreal Forge. Everything else is on you. If you want more magicka and regeneration of it, then you can add Seducer to Julianos. If you need more mitigation, then use Fortified Brass. Since there is craftable jewelry it is easy to get a 5.5.2 build.

Overland Questing with the magicka warden i liked 5 Julianos, 5 Thunderbug and 2 Torug. All divine with The Lovers mundus. Instead of Thunderbug the Shalk Exoskeleton was ok too. I just liked the mitigation more. But the low Ulti of the bear works nice with Shalk and a weapon trait + ultimate gain. Shalk and Thunderbug jewels are easy to get.

Consider Torugs pact. Next patch enchants will proc off both the front and back bar, so with infused weapons and a few dots you are guaranteed 2-3 enchantment procs (2 of you use front bar an inferno staff and use flame clench and on the back bar use a shock staff for wall of lightning..... But because of how powerful torugs is, and because wardens usually use the back bar for buffs, consider using dual wield on the back bar with blade cloak - it gives defence and the dot could proc 2 damage enchants every 2 seconds while you you use another enchant on your front bar).

There are lots of great enchants - obviously elemental damage can hugely increase dps as well as apply status effects, but the enchants that increase spell damage are very powerful and (according to my napkin maths) the hardening enchant will give you a 7k damage shield every few seconds...

I know you would like to craft all of your armor, but nothing you make will be as powerful as Necropotence, which is very, very easy to collect overland.
#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

Both are fun, but I enjoy magden more. I run winterborn x necro x skoria with atro mundus on mine. The sustain and magpool is great. I pvp and haven't gotten around to farming other sets in divine, but even in all impen I do decent damage in pve. I'm not using him to run more difficult vet dlc dungeons until I farm divine gear.

Yes. Necropotence is in Rivenspire. Julianos is kind of the Magic equivalent of Hundings. You might have good time with the queens elegance also. Found in Auridon.

Is Queens Elegance crafted, I haven't heard of that armour, also is it always best to add a piece of light and heavy to the medium set, or whatever set your using ?
    Thanks
