Has anyone used or been in contact with ESO support from 1 year ago to now? Do you ever get the feeling that something isn't right when you talk to them? Do they ever speak in ways an actual person would or not? Or do they communicate with copypastes? Only time their speech changes is when they quote something you said ingame. My theory is that ESO support are bots essentially.

They've been bots for a very long time. The first response is always from a bot. When you reply, you get a real person if you need more personalized help.

Actually you don't because the responses are still copypasted. Ask them what is 2 + 2 and see if they answer or just evade the question. They don't like direct questions and like broad overall responses when they do answer.
Recently I asked them why they wanted my phone contact info and they just told me the equivalent of a "f,uck you" in real person talk.
I shall further add that they are fond of censorship.

That's partially true. Customer Support everywhere has a list of pre-approved responses even when they're real people.
They don't answer direct questions like 2 + 2 = ? because...well, it's not relevant.
Customer Support has indeed gotten way worse, though sadly. It was even better at launch!

True it isn't relevant but they should say something addressing the question such as we aren't specialized as mathematicians. Problem is they ignored a lot of my questions even when they were directly relevant.
Things like "who specifically did I offend/incite" pertaining to zone chat, they didn't answer.

Because they're not allowed to disclose that kind of information.
You'd think that would be obvious
