9 trait crafting on every thing takes a little over a year if you are very diligent.
But yeah, in terms of stuff you use everyday, mount training is an outlier.
yeah...crafting does take time...but you have options with that...you can train certain things you want most....you can hire other crafters to make stuff...you can buy from guild traders...you can level different things on different characters...you have lots of viable options with that.
Honestly, outside of PvP, once you get 30 speed on your mount, everything else can take its time. I'm almost done leveling riding fully on my stam warden. He is still level 30. I'm going to be making a stamplar as soon as I figure out a name for them. And then I'll train riding on them as well. I've done it on every character and I've never paid for a riding lesson (though I'm not unhappy when I get one in the free crates). As others have said, get Rapid Maneuvres as soon as you are level 10 and that will help a lot with speed.
There is a really simple reason for this and its right in front of everyone’s faces. They want you to log in every day
lol...and you really think that? ...content...daily prizes...enjoyable things are what make people log in everyday...they do this to make money by overcharging riding lessons in the overpriced crown store...that is why they do it...lets just say you have 12 characters...that takes at least 20 minutes if you want to spend the time to train all 12 characters in riding...you think that type of thing is what people like and they keep coming back to? That is what makes people play this game? You think that is what ZOS wants is for people to log in and train riding? Ok...you sure do have things figured out.
You obviously didn’t play before crown store or daily rewards.... or you’re just not smart
To make you spend crowns on it....why does it take 6 months to fully leveling riding?
I still argue that the saner choice is each *mount* is trained account-wide.
Example: I own the Christmas horse and the Psijic horse. I spend the next month upgrading speed on the Christmas horse. The Christmas horse now has 30 speed for EVERY character but the Psijic horse does not.
When The game launched different horses were stronger and had different perks; some were faster, some carried more, some had better stamina. I don’t see why we can’t go back to that and train the horses individually versus each character individually.
If you don't feed it every day it should get slower and lose stamina and drop a bag space!
Ok, I'm leaving, lol

I was going to add, if it gets to zero then the next day it's dead and you have to buy it again for crowns, but thought I might be pushing my luck with that one.
Seriously...even just leveling speed takes 2 months and speed and stamina 4 months...which are important in PvP...NOTHING in this game takes that amount of time...you can literally fully level a character in hours...why the hell would they make riding take 6 months?!?! Sorry, just leveling riding on my newly made character and i'm just disgusted with how they try to push people to buy overpriced riding lessons in their store...[removed comment]

Here's the general crown store business model:The mount (durable) and training (consumable) pair well together from a commercial perspective. The design is deliberate and intentional - and it isn't going to change. If you want change, then you need to change.
- Durables
- Consumables
It's that simple. Stop wasting energy on it.

This could be a crown store unlock. Great idea. Obviously it has to involve the crown store since the idea takes away from sales.
