Strange game freezing in NA/PC

I noticed several times tonight my game is not just lagging it is completely freezing for 2-3 seconds at a time for what seems like no reason, asked a few guilds and many other people are describing the exact same thing.

✭✭As in the whole game locks up, or everything in the world just stops, though you can still move around and do stuff in the game?
If it's the former, and it is happening exactly 10 minutes apart each time, that might be something like a memory leak.
if it's the latter, that's your connection to the servers playing up for some reason, which there has been some threads detailing the same issue.0 -

It was complete lockups, no movement or animation of any kind. Even freezing in midair at times.love is love0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I've had occasional brief pauses that usually present as stutter since 4.0. I attribute it to asset management. It's the kind of stutter you can notice when approaching a busy dolmen or zerg in Cyrodiil. Sometimes it happens when you leave a busy area too. It seems to have improved since 4.0.0 -
