...and that is because the dwemer are -gone- and not just dead.

The only dwemer ghosts there could be would be dwemer who got ghosted -before- the great vanishing, and yet kept on haunting until the days of ESO or other TES games... which seems to be a rare thing... not unknown, but rare.

Dwemer fused their souls into soulstones used to power their machines. Dwemer never vanished.. they just became tamriels version of cybermen.

Source? I think I read something like this but I thought it were single cases and didn't explained why every single one of them disappeard (excluding the guy from TES3).

E: also OP, good question why there are no ghosts. Up until skyrim it was no exception to meat dwemer ghosts

It's literally impossible for this to happen due to the fact that the dwemer are not dead.. they are...well nobody knows, but basically they poked the heart of a dead god and their entire race vanished..without so much as a "see ya be back later" so..they could be just up and removed from exsistance, sent into the far future, made into gods themselves, sent to lyg....the possabiltites are basiclly endless...but one thing is for sure, they are not dead

Because they didn't die, they suddenly disappeared. How that happened, well it's the biggest mystery in The Elder Scrolls lore. We will have an answer eventually.

For the sake of argument let's say that the Dwemer are dead rather than disappeared, or there are some remains of the dead (was it only the living that disappeared? Do Dwemer have graves or other funeral rites?) - perhaps these necromancers aren't skilled enough to raise them in any form, be it reanimation of physical tissue or communing with their spirits. That would satisfy me - it may well be possible, but these necromancers lack the ability or understanding to do so.

I'd hope not, I don't know how anyone can give an adequate or fulfilling answer to such a huge mystery in the lore.

Indeed, and also there were some ihn TES-III:Morrowind:Tribunal... even one as NPC where you go to reforge a certain sword as I recall...
...but as mentioned, most dwemer dungeons are without ghosts (but have all those automatons of course)

This one has been excluded by Vivec in TES3, if I remember correctly: when asked about the dwemers he says that he cannot sense them in space nor time.
Maybe tapping the Heart changed their nature so much that they aren't recognized as dwemers anymore.
I guess (and hope) we'll never know

Well its possible there is a few undead not ghost dwemer. For example
    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Harmonic_Auditor
It is hinted that he might be a dwemer and the dwemer of that city or outpost used him in an effort to merge their souls all together. My guess an early experiment to try and reach their goal of achieving a higher state of being not liking the fact they are subgradients. They used this method to try and merge all their souls together into one bigger soul and tried the same methods that ended up destroying their race. He might not have been effected because he was in that state and the lifesupport system hes on he might not have counted as a living dwemer because he was a conduit used in an early form of dwemer uncreating themselves. But all the other dwemer around him were well taken or destroyed by what they did in those ruins or became part of the brass tower like most of all the other dwemers that were not in the outerplanes by the major event that happened later on in morrowind.

I believe all the theories of what happened are true in some way their disappearance was not all at once and all at once are both true. Some were teleported into the future to return in the later eras, the rest became merged with the giant robot god they created. While also being zero summed out of existence. Some of them uncreating themselves through rituals profaning earthbones over the decades slowly not all at once till the big event at the volcano with the heart which wiped out all the remaining dwemer except one and the one in the ruins that we find in eso on the lifesupport system. There might be dwemer locked and imprisoned in Oblivion, WIthin Azuras Realm, maybe in other daedric realms. So there is lots of possibilities and more then likely all of them are true in some form or another.

Alright, this has gone on long enough. I'll tell you all the big secret to the disappearance of the Dwemer that I've been holding onto all these years.

    They turned into stones.

No, they did not turn to stone. They turned into stones. All those little rocks you've been walking past or tripping over and never gave a second thought to? The ones you believed just fell out of the crumbling walls? Yeah, that's them, silently screaming for help as you carelessly toss them aside or kick them over a ledge.

There have been reports of finding piles of dust on dwemer chairs and beds tho...so who knows?

Fun fact: dwemer automatons cant venture far beyond the dwemer structures before shutting down. (Seems the dwemer invented bluetooth)

Actually one of the Dwemer-obsessed NPCs (I think it was Neramo) addresses this; it's a restriction in their programming that can be hacked around.

I still personally believe that, based on what we find under Mournhold and what we see in the Egg of Time, that the Dwemer burned to death due to Kagrenac mucking something up.

I like how far my theory regarding them being burned to ash has come since first adding it to the wiki.

There is a living Dwemer, Yagrum Bagarn, (http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Yagrum_Bagarn_(Morrowind)) who is still looking into the disappearance of the Dwemer race.

The Dwemer race was sent to another realm called "Earth" where their technologies became more and more advanced. They eventually changed their names to Hu-man ("god man":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hu_(Sufism)) because the separation from Tamriel caused them to lose much of their magic... therefore separating them more and more from their elven lineage. They have actually reached their god-like state.

Through this reality- the Dwemer can now control the fate of Tamriel and all of its inhabitants (man, mer, beastfolk) through their technology. They can also reconnect with their home world and experience life through the eyes of any of those races.

    Mind= blown.

I'm controlling the fate of Tamriel as we speak.

what i mean is that dwemer were at constant war there definitely would be dwemer that died in combat i mean why event any necromancers tried to raise them or havent seen any of their spectral ghosts try to reach us.

I like to think that what happened to dwemer is pretty much the same thing that happened to the Psijics and Artaeum, except with the dwemer it was an unexpected consequence rather than expected.
