Isolated Altmer first seeing another Race

Being in Summerset got me thinking about what reactions my Khajiit rushing by would make given the context of the setting.

Something like an elderly ignorant of the world High Elf living in the back woods tending her garden suddenly gets brushed by my character on their way to a Geyser in a hurry. The Elf is so shocked by the sight that she tracks down the Divine Prosecution, panic in her eyes, "I just saw a-a BEAST riding a Horse!"

I imagine that meeting a Dunmer must be like something out of a childhood tale. "OMG, look at her skin and eyes! They used to Aldmer once, just like us before they went away in exile and became the Chimer. And that's why we Altmer don't worship Daedra so we don't get cursed like they did."

IIRC doesn't the introductory quest have that mer who saw the Yahgra fighting Raz think they were outsiders?

I remember seeing a book in Summerset written by just such an elf. I can't remember the name, but it was pretty funny. It was an Altmer relating her experiences when first seeing the other races.

Summerset naturally has both, and there a short quests associated with them and their outcasted members.

The vamp one is very short. If you comb the coastline you'll find it. The werewolf one is either outside of a delve or in one of the towns.

And the werewolf pack is at Archon's Grove

When elves first vame to Tamriel did they have any experience with other races? Or were the Khajit and Argonains the first they ever saw? I dont think i know enough about their true homeland lol.

Although the high elves in Summerset have been historically secluded from the rest of Tamriel, they are fully aware of other races and how superior (sic) they are in comparison.

I don’t think they live their lives completely oblivious to the fact that other races exist. Rather, they choose to deliberately close themselves to them.

A typical dinner conversation may go something like - “Did you hear about the events unfolding in Elden Root? Those damn cannibals won’t give the ambassador an embassy worthy of the Eagle banner. How shameful. ”
