Could Goblins, Riekrs/Rieklings, or Ogres ever become playable races?

Hello! As a fan of the series with much love for the goblin-ken, I just wanted to ask what you all thought of the possibility of goblins, riekrs/rieklings, or even ogres being added to the roster of playable races, if ever we were to add on to the standard ten. I know that it's a topic which comes up often, and that many would like to play as a Maomer, Falmer, Dwemer, Akaviri, or what have you, but I think it might actually be easier to fit a goblin player character into ESO or TES VI than a few of these more far-off, vanished, or less neutral races.

We've seen in every game since Morrowind that the goblin-ken live in primitive societies, much like early men, mer, or beastfolk, presumably, with their own hierarchies of clan-chiefs, shamans, warriors, and workers. In Oblivion, goblins keep rats in pens as livestock, and create things like totem staves as symbols for their clans, which are fought over in territorial disputes. In Skyrim, we see that the Rieklings live similarly; they keep bristleback boars as mounts and livestock, create and collect things of cultural value, and can even speak the common tongue with practice. In ESO, the ogres of Wrothgar seem to live in well-organized clans, undoubtedly with a language of their own, and are capable of using tools and magic. There's plenty of evidence that the goblin-folk are reasonably intelligent beings, is the point I'm getting at, and it seems the only thing limiting their intelligence might be their status as vermin in the eyes of the more dominant races of Tamriel. If a goblin, riekr/riekling, or ogre was brought up in the same way as a Breton, for example, and had the same access to training and education, would there be any difference in skill?

Anyway, I think that if there's ever a serious discussion of adding another race or two to the roster, the goblin-ken ought to be given a fair shake. I've written up a few ideas for racial passives in the ESO style, actually, which might be fun to talk about. Also, I noticed when looking at the current passives that there aren't any races with bonuses to Health and Magicka Recovery, or Max Health and Max Magicka, besides the Argonians, so I wanted to fix that, and for whatever reason the Riekrs/Rieklings seemed perfectly suited for it.

Well, these are just the ideas I've written up in my spare time. I'm worried that they'll be overpowered, or not powerful enough, maybe, so I'd like to hear your ideas and suggestions, too.

I identify as an echalette, so that should be a playable race too.

    Unlikely for two reasons.

    1. Probably not considered to be evolved enough.
    2. Zos is not likely to use ESO to add to playable races in the TESverse.

The second reason is more likely. It could have a negative effect on die hard TES fans.

A third reason. Zos wishes to retain a some sort of rep for being serious gaming company and making either of those playable would pretty much douse that.

Please no on goblins. They're horrible in Dungeons & Dragons and they make horrible noises in ESO.

If there ever are goblin PCs, I hope ESO because a PvP-everywhere zone, so that the goblins can be immediately wiped out.

Well, Eberron goblins are cool, but they're pretty much the opposite of ESO ones.

Big problem here is that your "flavor" racial bonuses (the initial one that doesn't cost skill points) are giving direct combat buffs instead of things like 1%EXP or increasing food duration.

Much bigger problem is that your suggestions aren't classic playable TES races. I do not think any elder scrolls game is gonna break from the tradition of the 10 playable races. Even ESO bent over backwards to make imperials playable despite the fact that they're a villainous faction in the story and aren't a part of any of the alliances.

I hope for more races, could care less if they make up lore along the way.

Imo, they can't be used as playable races. With exception of ancient goblins that even traded with elves on Summerset, all have too low intelligence to even communicate with other races and are seen everywhere as vermin that attack on sight.

Maomers, sure. But how they gonna coexist with Altmers? Go to Summerset's Sea Keep to see what happens when two of them try.

Add race to create another layer to balance problems and break lore once again? No thanks. Crown Store breaks lore as is already. And they have trouble balancing the game as is.

But you can already be a goblin?
I swallowed a Spidersilk gem once and after looking in the reflection in the water i saw that it transformed me into a green one.
