Trials and Motifs

Does anyone know of any group finder sites for ESO Trials, similar to what Destiny players use for their Raids? It's kind of frustrating to have parts of motifs locked behind Trials when you don't always have the means to get a group together for this activity.

All the motifs are tradeable... Only two that are locked behind a trial that I can think of is Celestial & Welkynar.

Celestial is dirt cheap in guild traders so is easier, quicker, and cheaper to just buy it.

Welkynar.... well what can I say.... I wouldn't even start the grind if you're pug'ing it. I'd either do other stuff, earn stacks of gold & buy it as its super expensive, buy it in the crown store, or wait until the price comes down. If you're trying to find pugs for this then you will literally be there a year and no guarantee that you'll be lucky enough to get the right pieces...

...farming gold & buying it would be quicker, easier, & less stressful.

Zone chat if console, type or say - looking for trials guild. Same for pc except text. You can see people asking for trials dps, healer, or tanky positions. Ask them if they have a trials guild. Craglorn is a good place to be by the wayshrine, if looking for a spot.

For guilds we require dps test, mic, and to be on time for weekly trials set by the guild. Also, the proper gear for your role and know each trial's mechanics.

OP is presumably talking about the Dremora motif pages that will only be available from trials during the Witches Festival.

There's likely to be a lot of pugging during the event, so if you don't have a guild or group of friends to go with, zone chat (especially in Craglorn) will probably be hopping.

Yeah, the Dremora motifs are what made me post this. Admittedly, I'm a solo player, but I do PUG dungeons often. I've had this game since Beta and have never done a Trial, though. o_O

Maelstrom counts as a trial. You can easily do Normal maelstrom in 30 minutes just heavy attacking. So in 30 minutes each evening, you can get the motif.

I'm not sure about other servers but on Xbox EU there's an abundance of Facebook groups dedicated to finding groups, buying/selling gear & people looking for trial guilds/groups to join. Might be worth checking out

Dark Anchor and Geyser Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Daggers and Gloves

Delve Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Staves and Belts

Final Dungeon Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Helmets and Maces

Public Dungeon and Quest Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Shields and Boots

World Bosses drop Dremora Motif pages for Shoulders and Axes

Kinda annoying. I wish all of the motifs dropped from all of these sources. That way you could still do what you like to do.

I assume that trial PUGs will be more frequent while the event is on. Farming in Craglorn waiting for people to call out a nAA run is somewhat viable even now (esp. during rush hours) but will probably be even more so when everyone and their pet bear is trying to get free stuff.

The real question here is how rare will these things be? I'm guessing they'll fall in line with the Worm Cult motif and that means farming dozens of trials before even having both pages on a single character.

The Dremora skulls are a guaranteed once-per-day drop from each type of boss, and they're guaranteed to contain a motif page.

the dremora skulls are once per category daily per account, as in first WB gives a dremora skull, first Dolmen/Dark Anchor gives a dremora skull, first delve gives a dremora skull, etc, so a max of 7 dremora skulls per day, and only one of each category...now over the long haul for the idrik mount, the first dremora skull daily gives a ticket...i think the subsequent events are slightly different, but that's the routine for the witches festival...
