We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Its PTS time, so of course everyone is spamming the nerf this, buff that, nerfs for thee, not for me kind of thing. But all of this slap buffs here and slap nerfs there is the problem.

There are plenty of mathmatically and obviously overpowered things in this game. The heavy speed meta was one of them, it was obviously too strong, and got nerfed real hard. The way it was done however was a problem. Whether you like the nerf or not, the majority of people are looking at this terribly. This "buff what seems weak, nerf what seems strong" attitude does nothing but break the game for people who do not run builds that abuse things like that to the max.

What we need, are rebalances. Fixes to both sides of a problem that allow players to play and counter things without it being too one sided. For instance live: Half the game snared and rooted nearly constantly. The other completely immune and running at 160% of movespeed. What makes sense, maybe reduce the strength of snares and roots for the slower players, but change immunity to a longer term, but not 100% reduction to them applicable to the current totally immune builds. Nice, a counter to speed that has its own counterplay. (reduction) That makes it better for slow builds, but lets fast builds still exist.

But... Nope haha. We'll just throw nerfs so speed is less effective as a whole. Forget intelligent playing and build diversity. But wait... what about the tankier builds that will arrise now you can't run as much.... Guess we'll just blanket nerf heavy again... but wait... snares are now OP, well better nerf them too...

Before you know it, classes end up messy weak homogenized mush. And "buff me pls" posts are equally as bad. Remember rune cage. You get similar issues upwards, well, they have this, so either nerf them or buff me. And it usually ends up with a mess of nerfs too. ZOS has no methodology, no rhyme or reason behind what they have been doing. Due to this, they just add random exceptions, broken sets or otherwise throw some nerf at it in hopes the problem goes away. But then you run into an issue where they have far too much collateral damage.

TL;DR? Rebalance things to focus on a problem not just nerf things messily like patchwork. When nerfing, as a prior post once said use a chisel not hammer.

This is the reason I'm searching for a new game. I don't like the way they're taking this or how they take care of the game. I expect better quality of functionality across the board, is this not achievable? Has anyone played a awesome mmo that didn't have this many concurrent problems? It's not even like they're working on it they just pretend it doesn't exist, I don't understand how a business selling a product can behave in this manner to the customer base. It's like they don't know that if we all left they have nothing. Without players you have no game.

Balancing PvE and PvP separately is the problem.

The policy - reiterated numerous times - is a commitment to trying to balance them together. So. . . after several years, how's that workin' out? Maybe. . . just maybe, is it time to try a different approach?
