Hi Guys, I was chatting to someone in game who said that he sometimes plays on the NA server if he is experiencing issues on the EU server, I didn't think you could do that. I told him iwas having issues with FPS drops on an evening, they only last a few minutes, and he suggested I should try and switch to another server when it happens. My question is can you actually do this and is it allowed by ZOS ?

I think you can as they allowed this for the Summerset event, but the servers are unique, so whatever you have unlocked on one remains on that server.

FPS drops have nothing to do with the servers.
If you are having bad fps you need more raw power on your machine, be it either CPU or GPU.
If you see more fps on the other server is just cause probably its empty and your PC doesn't have to render any other characters besides yours.

Back in the day FPS drops were a big thing and they were addressed, FPS drops still happen in the game cause of memory leaks.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, I wasn't sure if you actually could and I am not rolling another character just to play on another server. Like I said my problem only happens for a few minutes and then it's ok for the rest of the time.

You always have been able to have characters on both servers traveller.

You should be aware that all characters, any stuff you have and all crown store purchases are specific only to one server - you won't have them on the other.

Chapter purchases apply to both servers though.

Khajiit has a very little cousin on the US server - created for the Summerset event but still existing because this one feels she will be useful when the Test Tamriel is in the US character moon phase.

Yep.
On the screen where you input your password: top choice in the menu on the left, you can change which server you log-in to.

But, like drkfrontiers mentioned, it will be as though you're logging in with a brand new account, and the first time you do so you may receive an on-screen message and an email prompting you to enter a one-time code to verify that it is your account.

And again, memory leaks have absolutely nothing to do with any kind of server performance

To the account thing. Yep, it will be like using a new account. Even content bought with crowns won't be available on both servers since they are not shared.

Seems like a lot of trouble to me lol. I don't think the problem I have is CPU or Graphics card related and most modern games aren't reliant on RAM I am lead to believe.

@Sweetare, I am using a Intel i5 4690k which is clocked to 4.5ghz and my GFX card is a Asus GTX 970, I am not a fan of the i7 chips hence me sticking with the i5, which is water cooled and probably has no relevance to what your asking lol

I haven't played much on NA server since the time you needed a full extra install (had EU, NA and PTS installed at one point).

Can anyone tell me is ESO+ across both servers? Do I get ESO+ crowns on both servers, or just a main one? I know Chapters are available on both NA and EU if purchased.

ESO plus counts for both however you only get one lot of crowns - so if you have spent them on one server you don't get to spend them again on the other.

Actually it does, rules out temp issues under heavy load

That's a pretty good CPU, you should indeed be having no FPS issues.

Only solution would be to troubleshoot and find what's eating your resources. (like Windows 10 downloading / installing updates while you are gaming)

Thanks, it's not a massive issue really but your right I should try and diagnose what is causing it, I don't let Windows 10 update automatically so I can rule that out, it's weird that it only happens at night as well, might give this PC a good overall as I haven't serviced it for a few months.
