Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

I saw foreign people inside my house (?)

Yesterday night I was with a friend in my Twin Arches in Bangkorai. Suddenly I could see another player coming inside by the main gate. She was going around and inside the house. My friend saw also. I tried to talk to her but I only had a vague reply ab1s5ht0lwgh.png. Now I wonder if she was able to see the content of my storage chests. Apparently, nothing is missing. Does anyone had a bug like this?

    Visitors cannot access chest contents

But if you have set visitors rights for example your guildmates they can visit your house

Khajiit likes surprise guests herself and wishes there was an option to set a property open to all.

Also it would helpful if running a tavern that passing thirsty strangers did not have to obtain an invitation in advance but could just pop in when passing by.

You definitely need to double-check your visitor permissions, because they're not bugged. If somebody was able to teleport in, it's because your permissions allowed them to do so.
I play this game a little bit I guess

I can't search the guild because "Skyla T***o" is a character name, not a username.

I may be missing something, but from your screenshots, it appears you have your house open to all visitors ..
    Housing/Setting/General/Primary Residence/Visitor is what I'm seeing.
So, basically anyone can visit your home. They don't have to be on your friends' list, nor in your guild.

No, maybe I am missing something. There is a list with visitors, with just one name, I have tested several times, nobody could enter without his/her name in that list

If you have your settings so that you have "Default Visitor Access" set to "Visitor", then anyone, regardless if they are on any list (besides your "ban" list), may enter your house. If you don't want anyone random visiting, you have the option to set that to "No Access". And of course, there are the "Limited Visitor", "Visitor", and "Decorator" options.
    hope that helps explain :)

They would still need to be on a list where they can travel to someone in the house no? Either a guild or freind of someone already there.

From your screen shots: My understanding is that the world has visitor access to your house, if they can find you long enough to travel to you primary residence.

But I think that's to be able to visit their home when they're not there. If a player is in their home and hasn't restricted visitors to those on their friend and/or guild lists, then they can visit you. If the player is not home, then only those on their friend/guild list can visit them.

The OP was in his house at the time and default access was set to visitor. I'm not sure, but it looked like Twin Arches isn't their primary residence? You can only visit primary residences of players when they're offline, and only if you have permission. But, if you're in your home, even if not your primary, then strangers can visit if you haven't restricted access.

A few days ago I was in my home and suddenly was not alone. That's fine, as I do have things set to visitor. But, what might be relevant here is:

They person said that they had right-clicked my name in order to piggy back to Coldharbour. As I'd just come from Coldharbour to my home, she had ended up in my home instead.

Perhaps this person had just tried to piggy back to wherever you were before going to your home, and got taken for a ride to your home instead. Just an idea.

I remember once I needed to get to one place quickly. I jumped to my guildmate in that zone, and found myself in his Twin Arches house. As I far as I could understand, several players were RPing there. Everyone was confused, me especially...

Today someone in my guild said a random person was inside her house. They jumped around and waved at her but disappeared/logged off quickly. This person was not on her friends list and was not a member of our guild or the one other guild she is in. She was alone in her house before this so the stranger could not have traveled to someone else in her home. Any ideas?

How this could have happened on a console is something of a mystery to this one - as you do not have the addons that would make this possible …

Perhaps some strange glitch that when they try to travel to their house they end up in yours instead?

One of the nicest things I liked about the way Rift did their housing, was that there was a list that everyone on the server could see and you could visit anyone's house.
They also added a nice touch by having a leader board of sorts - whereby you either liked a house or not and gave it a +1.
Some of the houses in Rift were amazing as they were crafted from the ground up. I'm sure ESO has some fantastic houses as well but we never get to see them in the flesh. It's only on vids and forums that you get to see ppls creations.

One last thing - only being able to visit someones primary residence is so restrictive and needs to be changed.

It can be changed on PC traveller. You can use the addon - Port to Friends House. Type in a name, pick the property and as long as the house is open to all you can travel there.

This one agrees though that she would wish to see this functionality for all travellers.
