Stuck in cursor mode bug

This has started happening few weeks ago for me.
I might just be running in random direction, not doing anything but holding W key, and all of a sudden I am put into cursor mode and the game completely stops reacting to anything, and I have to shut it down from Task manager.
What's going on? This is completely game breaking. It also happened to me several times in a row. With how horribly long the login process is, this is really frustrating and annoying.

I logged in, revived, took a few steps, and got stuck in the same thing again!!
    This is friggin unplayable.

Ok, FIVE TIMES IN A ROW now.
I thought it was a result of rapid key combination, but I cannot replicate it.

And again. This is totally unplayable!

Has it really never happened to anyone else?!

i had a similar problem like what your describing years ago in another MMO i was playing, come to find out after a few days that my dog had chewed the cord (ever so slightly) on my mouse and keyboard, it had slight and small effects to everything on my PC.
once i got a new mouse and keyboard everything was fixed.
now im not saying that's what is happening here, but it is possible that might be the problem.

I think I might have managed to reproduced it, but it's really awkward.

You need to be sprinting, and then rapidly press: barswap, left mouse button, right mouse button. In this order. Sometimes it only triggers the second time you do it.
I originally thought it was the mouse software triggering it somehow, because I have the ` key mapped to one of the mouse thumb buttons, but when I did it on keyboard (awkward!!), I seem to be able to reliably reproduce it if I do it quickly enough.

It seemed random, because I don't always smash the keyboard so quickly, but it was typically happening when I was starting a fight, running towards enemies, shooting off skills, light attacks, and swapping bars all withing two seconds or less. That's always somewhat random, so...

    P.S. All addons were disabled.

    OH WAIT.

I have now managed to trigger it without even moving, BUT while holding Shift key.
This is some seriously weird stuff.

I'd like others to try it too: just hold Shift, and rapidly press barswap button and L+R mouse keys. Could be in any order. If the bug is really there, it should eventually happen.

    What is "cursor mode"?
Does your cursor look different than normal when this happens?

You say you have to kill the game with task manager? That sounds like a typical Windows "program has stopped responding" locked up program. That's not the game, specifically, but actually the computer not handling the game the way it is running.

I suggest you repair your game download or reinstall it if the repair fails to fix it. That will likely fix the error in the code that causes this, unless your computer just isn't handling it as well as it did which may be the cause of the issue and would require an upgrade of something like RAM and/or CPU or graphics card.

Hitting the shift multiple times can open the stuck key debug function. It should open a debug window and may lock out all other windows.

I hate that "accessibility" option. It used to pop up all the time in older versions of windows saying it was meant to help with disabilities but all it did was make a super loud BEEP! from some motherboard speaker(because I didn't have any sound device otherwise) or even worse in headphones and startle me every time I held shift too long. It used to be after 7 seconds holding shift.

    I don't even... :#

I'll try in the most friendly way I am physically capable of:
If you have no idea what are you talking about, PLEASE, don't comment at all. Unless you didn't read past the first post (which lots of people do), you quite clearly saw I added steps to 100% reproduce the problem on two different installations, which means it's a bug.
Posting suggestions similar to Microsoft support is 1) completely useless, and 2) can be sort of insultive to the poster's intelligence. I mean why are you even posting here when you don't know what cursor mode is, and thus you cannot understand what's going on?

Just in case you somehow didn't get it from my description: the game is NOT frozen. I am running in a random direction, being attacked by mobs, and am stuck in the cursor mode I cannot switch back from, and the only solution is to kill the game.

I asked a question to clarify and figure this out to try to help you, but you chose to get defensive and have now made me perturbed enough to not give a flying fudge.
I didn't even finish reading your post and will not continue to try to figure this out and help. Have fun being a jerk to those trying to help.

Oh yes, start kicking around after being told you didn't even understand what the problem was in the first place. How very mature.
I don't need you to "figure this out" for me, because you obviously cannot (hint: I already have before you even came here - surprise! it's a bug!). Even thinking about upgrading hardware because of a bug in software is just mind boggling and shows you have no idea and shouldn't even try to "help" others. Coming up with random ideas is not helpful and you can even cause harm to less knowledgeable people out there.

If politely (or neutrally at worst) being told you are wrong is being a jerk, then I really feel sorry for you.
