I wonder if all these nerfs are to prepare us for class change tokens from the crown store?

Seriously, I wonder if all these class nerfs are to get people in line to buy class change tokens from the crown store?
At this point, i'm pretty sure ZOS is at least thinking about adding those to the store and sadly i would probably fork over some crowns to be able to change class(es).

Could all this be just to soften up people so they can squeeze more $$$ out of us?
Or should i just take off my stylish tin-foil hat?

I'm actually surprised they haven't added in class change tokens yet. My theory is that the only reason is because they haven't figured out a way to do it without messing up or glitching the character yet.

    Pretty sure it'll happen eventually.

Sometimes I wonder if the reptilian humanoids are actually real, and the Argonians' lore was actually written by a bunch of lizard people who are hiding in plain sight. Why else would they make the racial passives so good? Obviously we are being conditioned to accept their existence.

ZOS is ran by real life lizard people who are secretly plotting to take over the world.

    CONFIRMED.

You know, if people want to spend 5000 crowns to meta-chase, whatever. Everyone has a weird hobby.

But they'll probably still be miserable. Which is something that can't be conveniently side-stepped with a token.

That would be nice. I don’t mind them making money. I would like to have the option to change class even without the nerfs.

This is a very horrible way to introduce that if you are correct. It’s caused a lot of irritation and bad days and arguing here. On that note, I had to take a xan this morning because of work stuff. So today I won’t be trolling on here arguing about white knights and bots and trying to stand up for liberty and due process. Good mood... looking forward to a weekend of ESO!

Class change tokens will only happen when ZOS doesnt make more money overall from players making and grinding new characters in response to nerfs, buffs, and new classes.

Or in other words, when the game is finally dying and ZOS would rather soak the last crowns rather than encourage players to grind away, then I expect to see Class Change tokens.

Me too, but i only have one character that i was trying to actively get as many achievements on as possible.

Unfortunately, that characters class took a big hit (for my play-style anyways) and i may have to abandon the idea of chasing achievements with it.

I wouldn't buy a class change token on principle.

I've been wondering if it's in preparation for some form of spellcrafting finally coming to the game. "Now that we've removed all secondary effects from your damage skills... ta da! A system to add secondary effects to your damage skills! Comes free with purchase of the Elsweyr chapter, Spring 2019!"

    But probably not.

Obviously, class token threads have been around for ever, and generally I have been opposed to them. I have at least one of each spec, and since I gave up achievement hunting a while ago (come on account wide achievs), I stopped caring.

In the last year and a half or so, I have started playing a lot more PVP. I have a sorc in the mid 30's AR, and would like to at least get to legate for some of the shineys. Sure I will never reach GO, but its not really my goal. After watching the sorc train wreck over the last 18 months of ludicrous nerfs and buffs, I am finally changing my position.

If class change tokens were available, my PVP mag sorc would be changed in an instant. It doesnt reflect the class I wanted to play and go all in with, and I am not confident in the "vision" the devs supposedly have. Would probably go NB or Warden. Have also thought about just trying to push my DK to legate, as he is somewhere in the 20s, but thats a lot longer way to go.

I play my sorc in PVP right now and it goes like this. If I am in an even open field fight, I am really f'ing good at getting a lot of kills. Sorcs are great at killing someone that doesnt realize they were even in the fight (which is why terrible players whine about them on the forums). Once you step off the zerg train however, it becomes evident just how bad sorc is against any competent player. Their damage sucks compared to what it used to be and is painfully telegraphed. Their CC is garbage against a player that actually knows you are there (its easy folks, once you get cursed, dodge roll 2 seconds later). Their defense is one dimensional, expensive, and scales miserably in 1vX. The class is a shell of its former self with cramped bars and poor sustain. My DK, warden and Stamblade are SOOOOOOO much stronger in small scale. I am gonna let this patch go live, but my sub (since launch) hangs in the balance on this one.

Partly true. But I follow the boards and still don't give a crap. I'm not a competitive gamer, so the changes they make really don't impact me in any way that I care about. I was okay with one second cast time on shields. They'd have to do something like remove an entire skill line for me to get pissed. Because *that* would break my characters.

Or do jewelry crafting like they did. Which I'm still pissed about. Haha.

What class would you even switch to? From my understanding you were a solo sorc. There isn't another class in the game that approaches that playstyle, not even the warden.

Would you support account wide achievements? I am not proposing we eliminate character specific achievements, but a separate account wide tab seems like it would be easy to implement. I would immediately start playing more over night. I have a good chunk of the PVE achievements in this game, but they are spread across 6-7 toons. I am sure there are lots that I would strive for if they were consolidated, but at this point, why bother.

Dunno, like i said i have one of each class with all skills/weapons/armor maxed so i can switch between mag/stam on any one of them.
I could just switch characters, and i do that somewhat infrequently, but right now my main is the Pet Sorc.

So with that in mind, i would probably switch to a class with heavy armor focus since that would probably fit my mostly solo playstyle.

I also have been toying with the idea of switching to heavy armor on the Sorc but keep her magicka based.
Not sure how well that would work though, magicka sustain might not be viable with that.

    Absolutely agree with that.

I already abandoned the achievement hunt once on another character and now i'm about to give up on that again.
Making them account wide would take that out of the equation.

Anyone who actively plays multiple characters can probably relate ...

You'll find the changes to ward a buff in heavy armor, but heavy isn't necessary if you don't want it. If you post your specs (pm if you think it will derail this thread) I can make you either a fantastically tanky light armor sorc or a solid, workable, and enjoyable heavy sorc solo setup.

    Yes.

Also objecting to the idea that nerfing their class setup, which allowed for absurd durability without sacrificing damage on their glass canon is clearly indicates that class change tokens are in the works.

    Because... right.
