Daily Login Rewards - An Idea

I had a thought regarding the daily rewards and people having difficulties logging in every day vs. the people who are really good about making sure they do. I was trying to think about a system that would feel fair to both sides yet allow for a little leeway in regards to the *big* reward at the end of the month.

My suggestion is this: A 30-day reward system with a login bonus reward every single day; I still believe these should increase in quality the further into the month you go much like it does now.
If you miss logging in, you miss the reward *for that day* not the future ones, but the day that you did not log in. That way, if there's something coming up in the reward that you'd like but you know you can't get in all week, it won't be disheartening.

However, there is also a cumulative award (or a set of, I'm not sure which would be the better way to go) where in if you log into the game 10, 20 and 30 days *in a row* you get an additional tiered reward. This would be something *really* good (or an option of things, as what's awesome for me may not thrill you) like a motif page or a rare recipe/furniture schematic/big XP scroll/riding lessons/etc.) Each tier would be bigger/better.

So those who can only log in 15 days a month, would still get 15 awards and one of the larger tiered rewards, whereas the folk who can get on every day would get all of the month's dailys as well as all three of the top rewards.

I thought this would be a way to both reward and motivate people for logging in each day, whereas those who don't, or can't still will get a reward, just not the bigger ones.

I wish there was a poll so I could vote no.
    The current system is fine.
No need to pamper the spoiled player base any further.

This smacks of primary school sports day where no kid is allowed to lose.

If you can't log on you can't log on. Why should ZOS be expected to stump up not only rewards for those who don't, but extra for those who do.

I think it's fine as it is. 5 mins of your day to log in isn't difficult at all, I logged on everyday last month, got the 100k on the earliest day, and I work full time and my PC is broken so I had to use my bro's laptop.
The login rewards aren't even a full month, you have about 3 or 4 days to miss if you really want.

I was simply suggesting this as an alternative to the 20/25/30 day schedule people are already arguing about.

I though this might satisfy both sides.

The whiners' biggest complaint seems to be that they are missing out on the biggest rewards, and your proposed solution wouldn't "fix" that.

Ultimately, you just can't make everyone happy, and some people will always want something for nothing (even when they're already getting something for free!).

Yeah I stopped reading as soon as you said fair to everybody.

WTF isn't fair about a system that gives you free stuff when you log in. Sorry you can't log in every day Jon Doe. This isn't a job, it's not a requirement of life. Frankly if you are angry you missed the 100k gold reward because you say maybe chose to go out on a date, hang with friends, not call into work sick, or any other possibly social aspect then you actually made the RIGHT decision.

Now the whole hurricane thing..I feel bad for them, but even there I don't think they should just be given the items, or credit for those days. If my internet say goes down randomly for a day or two, ZoS isn't going to be like Oh sorry about this thing that is out of both your and our control but we will give you credit anyway.

People need to stop whining so much take the free stuff and just be quiet about it. At least they are giving you stuff (yes it's a ploy to make sure people keep playing their game). Back in the early days of any gaming you didn't get crap for logging in every day. It's a perfectly fair system. You logged in today? Here's a reward. You didn't log in today? No reward. Straight easy and to the point and flipping fair!

    Now the whole hurricane thing...

I can get behind extending events because of issues like that. I can't remember if ESO extended one of its events because of a hurricane or if that was a different MMO. But, at the same time, for the login rewards, when those aren't unique goodies? Not so much.

If it was a unique costume, and you had people who'd been knocked offline by a natural disaster, yeah, maybe. For 100k? No, that's just money.

But you shouldn't have to satisfy both sides. The harsh truth of the world is you can't make everyone happy. It's iimpossible. They, all companies, need to stop trying. No matter what you do somebody isn't going to be happy with the decision or how something is implemented.

This line of thinking is what is wrong with the world today. Not everyone is a winner. I'm sorry little Johnny, but I know your parents said you can be anything and have anything you want. The truth is just cause you want to make 7 figures a year and live a life of island hopping doesn't mean you get it. You want something like that you work and put in the time for years to make it. You want the rewards make sure you log in every day. Another guy said he got the reward last month and his computer is a broke, he found a way to get it. You spend more times a loading screens than time clicking the claim reward button.

Honestly, what we have now is a pretty good compromise. The unique and interesting stuff is mixed into the month, with a few days of generic, "here, have a cookie," at the very end. If you miss out on 2k AP... great, that's not even a single battleground match. But, you'll have the need stuff from logging in earlier in the month.

I mean, the current system is good. The 100k at the end was a bit of a disaster in my opinion, not because it loaded a big reward at the end, but because 100k to so many players seems to have completely scrambled the market on some items.

Either way, yeah, this is a good compromise right now. No reason to mess around too much with it as is.

Mirkmire in the November rewards remains to be seen.
