Ps4 file size is insane 104.6gb

Why does eso have such a large file size on ps4. Ever time the game has an update I have to uninstall other games because it requires you to have at least 104.6 gb of free space. Even if the update is only a few mb.

I would not bother tbh, ZoS always does what it generally wants in the end anyway with every PTS cycle.

Yea i really don't understand why the devs can't lower the file size. Warframe just had an update that cut its file size in half. Why can't the devs for eso do something like that?

We bought a second on the cheapy cheap so that one can be ESO only. I couldn't take the pain of deleting other games anymore.

Couple xb1 folks had same issue, update redownloaded the whole game one dlc at a time. I was lucky and only had the 700mb update. Sounds like something quirky.

Good lord. Thank the gods I'm on PC and don't have issues like that.... 700 mb download? Um. Ain't hap'nin.... I have 12 gig available on a rolling 30 day setup.... In other words, all I have is a few hundred megs a couple times a month.....

Ya... I had the exact opposite reaction: "woo hoo! It's only 700 mb!!!" Only took 5 min to download but I pay up for a good connection.

@Sylvermynx for reference, update 19 was over 40 gb... Yes gb... On xb1. PC definitely has us on file size lol

Uhh? I have the PS4 Pro and it's only 85 GB total. PRO versions always have more memory requirements than regular PS4 (due to the extended features)... so if your PS4 is showing 105 GB, then something is seriously wrong...

If I were you I would delete EVERYTHING and redownload because clearly you have amassed some useless data overtime, most likely stuff that was removed in previous consolidation patches.

That's insane. My advice is to buy an external USB 3 harddisk. In my experience you can even just get a regular HDD, doesnt have to be a ssd. I bought an external Seagate PS4 gamedrive 2TB HDD after I ran out of space on my PS4's internal 1TB storage. The external one seems to work just as fast as the internal, at least I haven't seem any difference in speeds, so it's probably mere seconds.

Because the current gen consoles require all games to be installed Micro and Sony both bit it hard by not shipping with large internal storage. Is why i had to buy a 2TB external from Gamestop, which is more than enough for my library.

Kinda wondering why your game size is 12gb more than mine on Xbox at 92gb.

Yah, and 20 is likely to be larger for everyone. So I have a good RL friend who plays; he's going to copy his entire install folder after he gets the update, and ship it to me on stick. Otherwise it would take me like 20 days of getting up at 3 am to use the late night free zone (3 am to 6 am) to download it. Can't go there.... lordy, I LOVE where I live, but the lack of real broadband is getting to be a killer.

My file size for eso on ps4 is around 105 gb I think. However it doesn't require me to have that much free space available when downloading updates. Usually I only have around 50 gb or so free. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game maybe twice to see if that'd make it smaller because I always see people saying it shouldn't be that big, but it's always the same. Other people I know that play on ps4 as well have the exact same file size too. Idk if maybe having it on a physical disc vs digital makes a difference in it's size or not, or if ps4 just has a ridiculous size for eso.

Well.... I just checked my install folder. 90 gigs (and the addons I use aren't in that folder, plus that includes the steam crap I no longer use but couldn't figure out how to get rid of without bollixing something important). So yeah, yours is larger but not by magnitudes. Dunno, I've never had consoles, but there might be other files that PS4 needs that boost the size.

Well this is strange. There was a time when my file size was definitely over 100gb, I think it was 104 as the OP said. After seeing this topic I went to check and now it is 85.24gb. I guess either the Wolfhunter or Summerset updates reduced the file size for me.

Update murkmire just came out so i uninstalled and reinstalled. Now the file size is around 65 gb. So i would recommend uninstalling and redownloading the game. Also i have the physical copy of morrwind expansion and i have digital upgrade for summerset but i don't think it would matter. However my file size was 105 and i had the og pyshcal copy of eso but when i reinstalled i used the morrwind expansion disc.
