I'm a big fan of quests don't get me wrong, but sometimes I want to just "Pick a direction and go" and for the most part it can be entertaining but it just feels wrong when I fight my way to a hard earned place and walk away with 30xp.
Would it be so bad if someone could get a couple of levels just killing mobs?
There's too much xp is your opinion, not fact so quit trying to play it that way. I to like to just grind on mobs at times. It's a nice break from questing which includes the multiple broken quests that prevent you from advancing the story line. So far there's just enough quests to keep you just under the level you need for the quest once you get to around 12. After that you have to get kills to bump your xp, clear out every mob in a dungeon, and explore new areas to get xp. It just doesn't seem like it's much xp at all. I have to kill mobs 2-3 levels higher than me to get any noticeable bump in xp and it's miniscule at that.
Are you sure about that Harming? I heard they reduced the overland xp a month or two ago and I just ran a couple of tests real quick and I was getting 2xp per mob.
EDIT: just retested it as lvl 7 vs level 7. 49xp so much more than I thought

Yeah absolutely. We had a few guys in guild hit level 50 in the first 24 hours of release grinding. You just gota find the right spot and a good group.
