Why are custom guild chat colors per character and not per account?

This would be a big no as there are some settings I have had different for different characters. Having to change settings each time I changed characters would be a pain. Changing them once per character is much less of a pain.
What there should be is the ability to copy base game settings from one character to another like the Binder addon permits us to do with keybindings on PC.0 -
