    Video I made of some gas discharge tubes and one of my toys I play with outside of ESO. I have a much larger coil as well. For pink lightning, it could be possible. But you would need to change the atmosphere. Replace the 70% N2 with He as inert gas at least to us. Not sure how good it would be for life though in the long run, as Nitrogen is an important gas for plants through Nitrogen fixing bacteria. Plants die, food chain collapses and method to recycle Oxygen from Carbon grinds to a halt. And in such an atmosphere everyone would talk like a mouse with a squeaky voice. Just listen to the voice of deep divers that use a mix of Oxygen and Helium. Squeak!
