    At this point, I would be extremely surprised (and satisfied) if TES VI had 1H spears at all. And then... IMAGINE THIS... you can HOLD RIGHT-CLICK to BLOCK with your SHIELD while ALSO pressing LEFT-CLICK to ATTACK with your SPEAR! And... and it could even be expanded so that you could attack with WEAPONS OTHER THAN SPEARS! That... that is such a revolutionary martial concept, I... I can't... I can't even IMAGINE it existing in Tamriel.

    Yes, TES combat is garbage (even with mods, usually) and I hope Bethesda advances it by leaps and bounds.

    Oh, well, for TESO? Sure, add spears. The only potential downside I could see is people dual-wielding spears and looking a bit silly while doing it, if they're 1H. If they're not 1H, then RIP the spear & shield fantasy.

    Why stop there? So many racial styles... have one "polearm" skill line, and make all the various types racial styles. Bosmer hunting spears, dwemer halberds, dunmer ranseur, breton glaives, imperial pikes, altmer spetums, nord bardiches, khajiit monk's spades, argonian military forks, orc voulges, barbaric billhooks, redguard glaives, maormer tridents, akaviri naginata, daedric war scythes, et cetera...

    I think they should just add spears and give them increased crit% like daggers.

    No! For my brave Nerevarine strides forth with Sunder, Keening, and her trusty glass halberd and strikes down the Heart of Lorkhan and destroys Dagoth Ur. (And, once again, I say that spears are awesome and I'd love to have them back in the TES games and ESO even though I totally realize its vanishingly unlikely to happen.)
