VMA CP 804

I've only attempted vma around CP 160-200 a couple years ago. I gave up after getting too upset with how poorly I was doing and forgot about vma weapons.
At CP 804 with single target dps averaging 37k easy, should I be able to do vma at this point?

No you cannot complete it until you learn the mechanics.

Cp helps but in the end its more about memorizing the rounds, spawn locations, and situational awareness. Also youre dps is more than enough to clear it, but the majority of the time you won't have to or be able to do a full rotation because most ads die so quick and mechanics you'll have to follow.

I did it at CP 160 in purple gear about 2 months ago for kicks. You are far more powerful at 804 CP and have more ST DPS at 37k than anybody that was doing this for the first year of release. Your damage and CP arent the issue.

You will still need to learn and respect the mechanics, which requires patience and a dose of L2P. Dive in, the water is warm.

37k is more then enough. Different classes have varying levels of difficulty in there.

More dps is preferable to more survivability 9x out of ten though.

I think i completed VMA with 450cp with the worst epic gear combo i should have while cap was 660 or something with a trillion deaths, next run was 10 deaths for a week farming it i was stuck to 2 deaths.

Then i got a mushroom exactly right under my feet that instantly exploded and the lizzard guy started to scream i was spamming shields to live AND another mushroom spawned right inside the shield NPC had up to protect me. That was a 1 death speedrun and a perm quit from that RNG mess.

As others have said it's all about learning spawns and downing things before they can even attack you for the most part. Depending on what class you are this becomes more important. You won't be able to tank even light attacks from most mobs, so downing them right as they spawn is critical.

High enough dps allows you to burn some bosses, you still need to know what mechanics to follow but its a lot easier.

Also, big question is are you playing a magicka or stamina build?

Of course you should be able to clear vMA. It has more to do with avoiding damage, not dying every 5 seconds, than anything else.

Easiest class right now is probably magblade with refreshing path and swallow soul. Since you are just going for a first clear don't run force pulse. 5 burning spellweave or juli, and 5 mothers sorrow. 2 valkyn skoria and which mother potent brew. The healing is amazing. Always run double inferno.

Magsorc i'd run 5 mechanical acuity, imperfect asylum and willpower and skoria with witch mothers potent brew.
Or if you want a bit slower passed combat but much less damage run one of the various vma pet builds you can find on youtube. The pets take a lot of the agro from you.

Stam is much harder but still very much possible. On pretty much every stam build run 5 viscous ophidian (make sure to have it active on both bars. Usually run 3 jewelry and 2 body pieces). For the other 5 piece run any of these; (best to worst) briarheart, night mothers gaze, hundings rage, mechanical accuity. Also run velidreth or maybe selenes if you dont have it. Try to always have vigor ticking and roll dodge attacks if your health is low.

It's mostly about mechanics and patterns rather than dps, though the more dps you have helps clear it faster and bypass certain mechanics.

I've seen players well below level 50 with Maelstrom Arena Champion and Flawless Conqueror titles, so...
