Bypassing Steam

I want to purchase a new copy of ESO directly from Zenimax so I don't have to deal with Steam anymore. Is it possible to do buy the game from Zenimax and still use my steam credentials so I don't lose the past couple years worth of play?

Though your progress is kept, remember that you will be logging in through the regular game launcher and not Steam.0
