First up well done everyone that worked together to achieve this early & to ZOS, hats off to a great community event HOWEVER for further events like this it should be for participants only, already there are messages like this appearing on some of the social groups and it does leave somewhat of a bad taste in the mouth for the people that worked hard and took the time out to work for a community event, you should have to actively participate in order to be rewarded.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. We knew that those who didn't participate would also benefit right from the start. Just try not to get involved in the drama, and enjoy your shiny new Pet, Mount, and House.

    Nothing, except annoying you.

Why care about them? Let them have all they want for free... I enjoyed my time during the event, being a taxi to Artaeum and taking new players through Summerset to make achievement. Those who didn't participate already punished themselves by having no fun.

Its not like we had to grind to get the rewards we had to complete an achievement that took all of 10-20 mins. Thats why I dont care about the freeloaders. If we really had to grind then I would be annoyed by it. Like if we had to kill 1500 monsters each to unlock something then I would be pissed if everyone got the rewards not just the ones who actually participated in the event.

People like that have bigger problems. Let's be happy we participated, helped bring the community together like I've never seen before, and accomplished a pretty tough achievement. We'll know what we did during the achievement while enjoying our rewards.

Great job everyone. I loved seeing the help from both NA and EU to accomplish this. Quite refreshing.

    • You logged in.
    • You visited 9 virtual locations.
    • You got free digital thing(s) as a result.
    • Everyone that purchases Summerset and logs in before the 7th gets the same, and ZoS gets paid.
Income was their goal. Mission accomplished, regardless of all your 'hard work.'

(This took 90 minutes max, from "I've never had a character on this server before" to manual completion of the achievement.)

While it qualifies as doing something, it hardly qualifies as work, let alone the hard variety.

TL;DR: Other people being granted it in no way, shape, nor form diminishes the value of the free item you have received.

Because it sells DLC, and because it will sell Crown furniture packs.

In the other hand, although really happy of the achievement, ZOS did you really have to promote social loafing? I do understand you did it to increase sales of Summerset (since we did end early, people who buy summerset from today til October 7th basically get a free pet, mount and a house making it something like a 'special time limited bundle') but i'm sure there is another way to do this without rewarding players that do nothing.

Why though? It could have just been simply something like this:

People who bought summerset before this event have to do the achievement to achieve the rewards.

People who bought summerset during the event only get the house if we do achieve it WITHOUT having to do the achievement. If they do the achievement, they also get the mount and the pet. (This way it will encourage them to buy it as the top prize is guaranteed if players achieve it, at the same time rewarding people who get to do it.)

People who bought it afterwards or do not do the achievement if they bought summerset before the event get nothing.

which defeats the purpose of having this event as summerset promotion in a first place. ZoS wants to sell more copies. moreover... other then gloating of facebook. how do you tell the difference between people who were unable to complete achievement becasue they were away, had computer troubles or any other number of reasons why someone may not have been able to play during the event week. why punish them?

I was actually skeptical myself and mentioned there would need to be a lot of people participating. I was pleasantly surprised, and demonstrates that ESO is a special community, apart from many other MMO communities. Managed to get a few friends to join ESO. I'm glad we got the house as they were looking forward to it.

This is a great opportunity for ZOS to explore ideas for homes. Adding a wayshrine to larger homes would be nice. :)

It does not defeat the purpose of Summerset promotion. It still encourages people to buy it due to the house reward but if they do want extras, they still can get the pet and the mount. To answer your second question, you don't differentiate those. Tough luck. It is only 30 minutes of your 10,080 minutes you have during your week.

I have no issue with people that had already done the achievement and their was fair warning about the event and that you could do it early and even doing it after is no real biggie but you should have to have completed the achievement not just brought the chapter and logged in because if that is how it is we should all get PVP end of campaign rewards just for logging on to each character without earning any CP LOL
