well, that's certainly easier than moving to a place with more liberal sweepstakes protocols, or working to change the laws. it still seems kind of peripheral to the story and gameplay, though.

Also cuz of greed. More people will try for a lesser chance of being uber rich rather than a better chance of a much smaller amount of money. Look what happens when the lottery reaches absurd levels of $500 mil+. The pot grows larger faster with each day there is no winner.
B-but that's less than € 850K, EU getting screwed over again!

That’s a fair point. I’ll add that $1mil could have bought some pretty good server upgrades, or funded a large team to go fix every bug in the game. Seems like kinda a waste of money in hindsight.

I don't even need a million. Just give me like, $200,000 and I'll do whatever you want.
I mean really who needs a whole million? That's why I hate the Lottery. Why have one $50mill winner when you can have 100 $500,000 winners.

Retire and be happy
However I agree with @Sevalaricgirl
I don't want to see the money I pay them to go for that again considering the restrictions on who can participate
Where can you retire on 1M after taxes? You would have to do a lot of investing and essentially never miss on one either. 1 Million isn't nearly what it use to be.

Hardly anybody would play. 500k doesn't "change your life" Sure you can pay off your debt and take a trip or two. You can't go and buy that car you've always wanted though cause you can't afford the insurance over time. Go read some of those stories of Rags to Riches back to Rags of lottery winners. Some won over 100 million then after like 15 years they are broke again. You have to be able to afford the items you buy. Anybody can save and buy say a Maserati, but not everyone can afford the few thousand a month in upkeep, gas, insurance etc.
If you watch Price is Right ever most people take the cash value of their prizes specially the cars. The reason is they have to pay to get the car home and then pay taxes on it. Not everyone can afford the taxes on a Vette.
This also explains the problem of Socialism. If you divide the pot among everyone there is no point for the masses to do anything cause they are just going to be taken care of which creates a lazy society.
I don't want free money.
It's always better to earn by hard work, not someone's mercy.
Give it to the charity organization.

Why would anyone move from the state or country they live in because ZOS decides to do something really stupid instead of giving in game rewards that everyone can participate in no matter their state or country? ZOS should have had more insight than that.
