What an absolutely terrible idea. Slap a blanket snare on the 2 slowest specs on the game that are already very snarable so the ones running full swift heavy FM become even better.

Better idea: Snares gain a 30% and 10% major minor system, These are now multiplicative, so affect faster builds more. Remove immunity. FM/shuffle/wings only removes snares/roots and grants a 50% multiplicative reduction, so 30% = 15%. Any roots removed grants 3/4s immunity. (Incl roll/Purge/FM and the like, more reactive, and better for med builds who can roll more, but no more passive immuntity)

I'm not sure you read this thread but thanks for your response!

Can you expand on this? Your response is confusing and vague.

all movement speeds need to be increased, both sneak speeds as well as mount speeds AND walking and running speeds.
right now it is like we are crawling in mud, i Hate it.

Instead of slowing everyone down, just put a cap on the amount of max swift/speed one can have on foot.

On the other hand, if someone wants to spend their time playing marathon simulator running from people instead of getting kills, whatever.

Remember when they removed wrath, heavy armour stam builds still stayed since they had access to good sets. Meanwhile magicka heavy ended up being worse off, and dipped under light. That will happen again.
Heavy stamina will still have the tools to deal with the nerf, and still be better than wearing medium. Stam builds would still have enough mobility to be viable in heavy. However mag would most likely switch to light as mag heavy would be pushed into the mobility danger zone and be forced to sacrifice even more to maintain bareable mobility, which then cuts into their already worse sustain/damage in heavy.

Blanket nerf suck. At worst put a cap on heavy. Though as I said before having snares do their job should fix it enough.

    yeah great! nerf everything =D

let ESO become Light Attacks Online with 3s cast time =D

and tell all who is affected - don't cry / you'll adapt / it is not a big deal / you deserved it for a long time

Magicka templars are already slow in heavy armor.

    The problem with swift is

    1. I can't hit someone running swift with melee attacks.

    2. My gap closers don't connect with someone running swift so invasion is worthless and the stun to stop the swift runner is worthless. Also after my gap closer misses I am not running anymore and it gives the swift runner 1/2 second to gain distance on me again.

    3. The amount of time someone running swift spends in a disk of radius x decreases so trying to catch up with a swift runner and using talons is difficult.

    4. Someone running swift only has to stop for a fraction of a second to fire off an instant cast and if it is instant cast they can still walk at 30% increased movement speed for that fraction of a second.

    5. Stamina drain is based on time sprinted not distance covered so people running swift get an effective buff to stamina regen while sprinting in the spacial domain(not the temporal). Or to put it another way they have effective well-fitted buff in the spacial domain.

The only way to fight someone running swift is to hit them with razor caltrops every 3 seconds which uses up a gcd for tiddly winks damage and a chance to hit the target with melee or use ranged damage.

Nerfing speed just makes the game slower and less fun. I could maybe get onboard for the opposite of your recommendation: Heavy unchanged, Medium gains 1.5% speed per piece, light gains 3% per piece

What a zergling thing to say. To be honest. The people wearing swift wants to be a mobile build and is pretty much sacrificing damage for that mobility.
I dont use swift but i mostly use tri pots and if i want to chase down a stamsorc and kill him i would pop my speed pots. Even a stamsorc with snare immunity, minor expedition, and major expedition is killable with my stamplar using speed pot for only major expedition. If a stamsorc wearing all swift then i have no problem with that because that sorc wouldnt be able to kill me due to lack of damage. SO ill just go on about my day and not worry about the swift user

Why are we even nerfing speed builds? They sacrifice in other areas to get this speed. It seems fine to me.

The playstyle has a very clear and simple counter. Whats the issue...

Please keep this thread constructive. I don't play in "zergs". I do Battlegrounds only.

The sacrifice is minimal. I know because I run every one of my characters with Swift jewelry. You seem to believe that players using Swift can't kill you - good one! ;)

And I urge you to actually read the thread because it is not about nerfing Swift jewelry.

Thank you for everyone's response. I see many are resistant to slowing speeds down. I feel this could be a good alternative option:
Nerfing speed just makes the game slower and less fun. I could maybe get onboard for the opposite of your recommendation: Heavy unchanged, Medium gains 1.5% speed per piece, light gains 3% per piece

This idea could get more positive feedback it seems.
