Mend Wounds - Is it worthy?

I recently tested Mend Wounds (Healing spell from Psijic Order perk) and it heals greatly! Thing is, It's very difficult to properly aim, mostly during combat when you have your group in the middle of a fight against lots of NPCs/Monsters.

Is it a good spell to use? Are there any addons that could help me see who's in need of healing during (intense) combat?

I like it. Less boring than regen, and doesn’t require a restoration staff. Heavy attack is basically a ‘you will not die on my watch’ beam.

Good for emergency measures in case of for example both your healers are down and tank cant be healed. But it's very awkward to use in normal situations. Heal is very strong, but at cost blocking the recovery from heavy attacks and glyphs proccing.

In pvp, almost makes the person beamed immortal (Mend Spirit morph), of course watch out to not get ganked from behind. And its kinda cheaper than "conventional" healing.

Good to know. Are there any addons that could help me see who's in need of healing during a combat situation? For example, in Overwatch, when you are playing as a healer, there's a red mark on the player in need of healing, so you can easily see them and help:

That would help a lot when using Mend Wounds during combat.

There is sort of a backdoor way you can do that without any add ons. You can turn the healer bars on and turn on the function to always have health bars shown over a person's head. When you see someone has taken a lot of damage, you can look for the person with a red bar over there head instead of green and they are the ones who need healing. TBH, though, mending is not really meant for emergency healing. It gives you a decent HPS, but in most high damage situations someone is going to die after only one or two seconds of damage (you might have up to 5 seconds if it is normal mode). In those situations, noticing they are taking damage, proc'ing the ability and then finding the person and hitting them is going to take too long to save them. An ability like mending is going to be better utilized as adding a HOT for classes that don't have them and preemptively healing someone that you know in advance is going to take a ton of damage, like the person standing on the grate in scalecaller or for a tank that's going to stand around in harsh AOE like in BC II or Falkreath.

I tried running this on my healer, but honestly I didn't care for the toggle. Plus, when I'd toggle it off, sometimes my weapons would dissappear. They still function, but the staves themselves would be gone.

The heals are strong, but the toggle is a little too much upkeep for me, especially when things get hectic. Much rather it had something like a 5 second duration that could be canceled if you hit another ability(since it replaces light/heavy attacks.).

That's just personal opinion. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't fit anothers playstyle.

It's a fun gimmick if you want to heal someone in front of the keep from the top of the keep. Other than that, I don't really see any use for it, the heavy attack at least.

It’s fun, Love the glowy hands, but not very practical. Was hoping to use it instead of rest staff on non-healer classes but you can’t heal yourself with it, have trouble healing targets blocked by others, toggle aspect feels very clunky, etc.

I use it when running vet trials and when pvping. On my warden healer I have enough mobility from skills that I can take the time to heavy attack heal someone (and with troll king and stendarr'ss embrace) I can keep people alive in pvp very easily. And for trials if I know the tank is going to take a lot of damage and the whole fight hinges on them staying alive both the light attacks heal over time and the heavies channel both work really well. Skill just takes some getting used to and practice to make work well.

I tested in BG combat, and it's great! I can, at least, use it during PvP, I guess...
