They aren't dropping beam dmg, read the change properly.

The dps will remain unchanged yet the cast time will be shorter, so basically you can still pull the same beam dmg but will be able to light attack more in between them.

If anything it's a dps increase.

if it gives you any faith ive done vMOL, vHOF and VMA on my magplar in the last 2 weeks.

magplars are all about the dots, the LA's and weaving - much more than other classes IMO

the PTS notes indicates youll get an extra 5% from the passives from dawns wrath if you use vampire bane, and youll get the same (if not a bit more) from the beam, although youll have to do it more often.

lots to be optomistic for.

reading between lines it sounds like one of 2 things is happening.
1) you havent got your rotation nailed. friend of mine hits 10k more than i do with the same build and same kit, his rotation is much more nailed than mine.. its all about the rotation my friend.
2) kit - theres a fair bit of debate on "whats best" at the moment, but the BiS seems to be BSW/Siro. i dont run that personally, but a lot of people do with excellent results. either way, make sure your kit is good.
