I refuse to do it in protest of the PTS patch notes!

So you are going to punish your fellow players because of what ZoS is doing?
    Yeah that will work

Well the way I see it, meeting that objective must have some kind of financial significance for ZOS. Nothing is free in the world. If something is being offered for free by a business, there is a way for them to make it back. I'm guessing the numbers will be used to please someone doing financial backing for the game.

So? Of course this is a promotional event. They want people to buy Summerset - it's on sale right now. But who cares? They're offering us some nice free items for doing this. It's an event for us as well as for them. All you're doing is punishing your fellow players by not participating. You aren't hurting ZOS one jot by not doing it. Unless, of course, you haven't purchased SS, in which case you can't participate unless you buy it. In that case, fine - of course you shouldn't spend any money you don't want to. But if you already have the game, then you're actively sabotaging the chances of your fellow players to get some nice things.

If something is being offered for free by a business, there is a way for them to make it back. I'm guessing the numbers will be used to please someone doing financial backing for the game.

It would probably be more financially expedient for them not to give away a very large free house and just charge 16K-20K crowns for it. Lots of people were already planning on buying that house. Your protest will do nothing to stop that.

Youre just being petty and vindictive just for the sake of it and taking it out on the playerbase that had very little if anything to do with the PTS patch notes decision

I won't be shamed! My protest will go on, even if it's a solitary one! I may be a drop in the bucket, inconsequential, etc. and ZOS' goals will be met, but that is exactly why I must protest. I'm nothing, my voice isn't heard, and it doesn't matter. If that's the case then I must not participate. Doing so is a betrayal to my existence, my essence, myself, and worst of all: my conviction.

    Wait, it's only a game...

    ...

All the more to not betray myself and my conviction, aha! Now I must ask my friends to join my protest, no, my struggle!

Again - you're only hurting your fellow players by doing this. But, whatever...I don't see how not participating in this is in any way going to hurt ZOS or get some point across about the patch notes, LOL. If you didn't purchase SS and refuse to do so now that it's on sale for this event, then you're speaking to ZOS with your wallet. But, not participating if you already own it just screws over the community, not ZOS. They'll then get to charge money for the house and then will make money off of your non-participation, and that of anyone else you manage to convince.

right because god forbid everyone should be able to enjoy something. Oh that's right, people believe they have to be above others to be valuable. how sad.

If there are a lot people purposely not doing it because they dont like the patch notes and think that by not doing it they will somehow hurt ZoS financially, which is absurd because instead of giving a free house way to most players, a lot will just buy it as they were intending to do.

I'm going to echo what others have said in saying that deliberate non-participation is not hurting ZoS, it's hurting other players who very likely share a lot of your in-game struggles.

Beyond that, I see this event as a way for ZOS to give back to the community while also encouraging the community to come together, work together, get excited together. MMOs, when it comes down to it are about the interactions we have with the other people who are playing. When all else is gone it's the memories we make and the bonds that we forge that will remain. No MMO is forever but the memories of the excitement and the camaraderie will last for what will seem as forever to us.

From an in-game item perspective, this isn't about the pet and the mount, this is about the house. Unlocking the Grand Psijic Villa for all SS owners will represent some people's first and probably only Notable home. It will stand as a reminder to them of this event and call back the memories. And, as with any house, you get to make it your own, make it unique. To me, there is no, "everyone has this so it's not special" when it comes to housing.

The housing system is so diverse and flexible that every home feels special so long as the owner has taken the time to do something with it.

I'm asking everyone to enjoy the ride a little. Put your issues with the game aside for just a minute and think about the people you play this game with. Is there not one person you know and enjoy who would not love that house? Is their enjoyment not worth a very easy 30 mins to you? If not, so be it, it is what it is.

But, either way, this is about coming to together and working toward a goal for the good of all.

I love the community in general. I have done the achievement on both servers and will offer help when I see calls for it in zone to work towards the greater goal. I applaud all of you who are there with me. For those who are not yet there with me, I beckon to you to cross the line, drop the bitterness and enjoy the moment.

These types of events is a huge plus for keeping the community social and friendly and inclusive of all ranges of players.

I love this event. I completed the achievement in a little over an hour on PS4 EU last night and enjoyed the experience enough that I think I'll continue to play my 'fresh' EU character.

I've donated eight hours of game time so far to helping others in pursuit of a personal goal of 100 'assists' before the event is over - already past 1/3 of that goal.

I'm doing it not only because most of my friends are dreaming of the Psijiic Grand Villa, but also because nearly every player I've assisted either wants the house or has friends who do.

Also, I'm looking forward to earning Crowns with every purchase on my ESO Plus Rewards Card :)

    It's 42% for everyone.

This event is all or nothing. Progress on all 6 servers is counted together and either we all get the rewards or no one does.

Will someone buy me a copy for Xbox One? :p Or a PS4 and a copy for PS4. If so I will do this. :D

Summerfall Event ends on Friday, September 28 at 10:00AM EDT.

I've already done my part and got the Summerset Pathfinder achievement across several accounts on both PC/NA and PC/EU.
It is still early into the event, but so far the community is averaging about 7%-8% per day, aside for the default 20% starting point. If this rate doesn't improve and spike upwards, then we won't reach the Psijic Grand Villa in time.
    20 (default 20%) + 22 (% gained in the past 3 days) = 42% (current %).
    42 (current %) + [7 (7% earned daily) x 7 (7 days left)] = 91%.
Even if it was 8% gained daily on average, we would still only be at 98%.

Anyone a Statistician, or am I overthinking?

    Exactly.
Hopefully we see some good uptick in %s for Friday through Sunday, otherwise, the rest of the week for the event might be a drag.
That's why averages are averages. Friday through Sunday might be 10% gains, but Mon-Thurs might be 7%. Who knows. It'll be interesting to see.

Maybe, maybe not. There's a lot of factors which could affect that. Here's some I can think of:
    • They really want the house but understand that it doesn't matter how soon they do it, as long as it's before the event ends, so they take their time.
    • They want to do it ASAP but it's not possible for them to get in-game for long enough on a week night.
    • They don't hear about it right away (I only just got the email today, if I didn't visit the forum I might not have heard about it before now).
    • They want to wait and see how it does before joining in.

It kind of doesn't make sense that this would count on both NA and EU. None at all.

Lots of people will straight up either refuse to do it on the other server or have 0 idea that this would count. And that would compromise the numbers as well.

Where's the official statement on this? Cause I refuse to believe it unless directly confirmed by anyone from ZOS.

So I'm still wondering I have already gotten the achievement on NA Server, will getting the achievement on an EU Server character count towards the goal? I'm sure I am not the only one who is wondering this. I just want to be able to help more if possible.

Yes, it's once per account per platform & megaserver. So you could technically do it up to 6 times (3 platforms of 2 megaservers each).
