Nothing datamined about next chapter or next update ?

All I saw was crown store datamined stuff..Usually each year around this time with each fall PTS we get little bits of Info. Last year was spellcrafting assets and the year before that was the 3 warden skill lines I think.

Just curious if someone will find some info about Necromancer or anything..I doubt it.. but I might quit the game for a while and that could be the thing to bring me back into the game.

Only thing I saw were Baandari Crown Crates, which might be a hint to Elsweyr content if they are released in tandem with a content release.

But the spellcrafting data mine was at the beginning of the year with Dragon Bones, IIRC.

I thought it was speculated that the next chapter would be Skyrim-based given the crown store's depiction of Riverwood.

Oh no not skyrim, not again, pleease

Yeah, I saw too the Baandari Caravaneer crown crates, probably after Xanmeer
Probably something Elsweyr-related will be after Murkmire - like that was with Scalecaller crates and Dragonbones. Probably, tho, we can only speculate now

I completed the main quest line in Murkmire last night and there was nothing in it like the Summerset tease in the Clockwork City DLC. There is a zone map of some sort on the table in the Cyrodilic Collections building in Lilmoth. It does not resemble any current zone so it may or may not mean anything.

There are also some casual references to Gideon in quest dialogue but I would be surprised if we have another Black Marsh zone coming up so soon.

I have several other quests to complete so maybe one of them will offer a clue.

Zenimax Media also put a trademark in for Redfall, but that doesn't mean it's not a Bethesda project or that it's not a ESO item for much later.

Also ZOS has got pretty wise to data mining and now uses a lot more code words or plain "update #" to avoid spoilers.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, if we get something in Skyrim then let it come with changes to ice/frost that makes ice damage dealing become a thing. Time to make ice staves great again. I had so much fun in Skyrim playing a character focused on dealing frost damage.

I thought it was speculated that the next chapter would be Skyrim-based given the crown store's depiction of Riverwood.

Importantly however this speculation is literally only based on this one image. The chicken is almost certainly a crown store/crate item and the image is concept art rather than an actual screenshot (which is why people sometimes complain that crown store items don't look like the preview image) meaning it doesn't have to be a location which actually exists, either in the game or in content currently being worked on.

I'm not saying it can't happen or even that it won't. But the fact that one artist chose something similar to part of Riverwood for the background to their image doesn't mean Skyrim is the next update or even that it's in the plan for future updates.

I feel like Skyrim would be an excellent spot to add in spellcrafting if they were to ever do it, with the College of Winterhold in all its glory.

Oh Azura the build up to Summerset when UESP datamine had mention of it. People lost their minds.

I can get behind this. ESO takes place prior to the collapse of Winterhold so a more complete college in Skyrim would be a great hub for spellcrafting.

Since the Bandaari are traveling peddlers, maybe the crown crate rewards will be an assortment of things from every province instead of focused on one theme.

I hope Riverwood is just going to be part of a dungeon, maybe with Bleak Falls Barrow as the main scene of the action. It is just over the other side of the mountain from Ivarstead. Easy to put the entrance in just there.

Bandaari crates will contain wares if you have coin, that's all. Baandari are itinerants, so not particularly associated with Elsweyr.

I'm going to be pinning my hopes on Redfall being the equivalent of Summerfall, with ESO:Redguard maybe being next year's chapter. Please, please, please [making begging motions here].

I really, really don't want to go back to Skyrim, especially if it is going to be such a faithful replica of TESV. Been there, explored that, and long ago moved on. As far as I'm concerned nostalgia is as much fun as neuralgia.

Hm, interesting. It seems to be the size of a base game zone, not really large enough for a chapter, but larger than a DLC. Although if there is no mountain in the middle this time it might work out? On the other hand, they've never added a map of upcoming content this early, so it might be something old and unused. Nevertheless, let's speculate!

There's a coastline on the right with a few smaller islands. Two areas might be cities, one on the far left, the other on the coast near the cross-hair in the screenshot. Possibly another settlement in the north. Assuming the one at the coast is indeed a city, there a few options.
It's Dawnstar. The building below it is either Nightcaller Temple or Frostflow Lighthouse. Above (to the west) is the marshy area of Morthal Hold, to the left is Whiterun. It would be pretty cramped, but I wouldn't put it past ZOS to bend maps a little. However, the map seems generally too green for northern Skyrim.
It's Leyawiin. To the west is Corinthe, the settlement in the north is Rimmen. The coastline doesn't quite fit the Niben, but again, ZOS.

Those are my best guesses, but neither quite fits.

IIRC, Raz just says that he should visit his family. For all we know, his family could live in Hammerfell or Cyrodiil.

While I'm not surprised with a reference to Riverwood since it's one of the most well-known villages in Skyrim, I would honestly be disappointed if the next place we went to was Whiterun Hold. There is only one hold in Skyrim that I want to see in ESO: Winterhold.

    Why?

ESO is pretty much our one chance at being able to see Winterhold in all of it's glory, since it takes place during the Second Era. I have always been curious what Winterhold was like before the Great Collapse. I think it's safe to say that seeing a city that's now destroyed in the present day of the Elder Scrolls timeline is a much more interesting idea than seeing a village that probably won't be very different from its Skyrim counterpart.

Considering the cards, I think it's pretty safe to say that Elsweyr could be the next location ^^.
