We’ve already met the goal. All rewards are already planned to be given out. That meter showing our “progress” is merely a tool to get people to buy the expansion or multiple copies of the expansion for an alt character.
I can’t imagine it going well for ZOS with them hiding the numbers for this event and not expect a very angry player base if the “goal” is not met.

The full trilogy:

Episode 1: Dew it on your server.
Episode 2: Dew it on the second server.
Episode 3: Offer taxi service.

I'd say the opposite actually. If you look at posts earlier in this thread you can see all kinds of reasons people hadn't done it already, in spite of owning the expansion. Some missed it or hadn't gotten around to it but a lot had simply skipped it because it wasn't required for anything and didn't have any rewards.

I assume you mean that MMO players tend to burn through content quickly, so anyone who bought Summerset at release would have completed everything already. But part of that playstyle is playing 'efficiently' - identifying what you need to do and focusing on that while skipping everything else. So I suspect a large percentage of Summerset players hadn't got this achievement.

I think that's why ZOS picked this achievement. Their data showed people were buying Summerset but not spending much time in the map and they're hoping that by encouraging us to see it we'll get drawn in...or at least the data will show tons of people completing the map. And of course the rewards offered plus discounting the expansion will encourage some people people to get it too.

Well, don't forget that the dusk keep POI is pretty off any path a reasonable player would follow and not all players use addons to help them discover them.

Take a deep breath and calm down. We are in a theater here. And the play is "Summerfall event" by Zenimax Online Studios marketing department.

Would it be a good play if it was over overnight? Of course not. We need to have some longevity, some suspense. The bar has stopped conveniently on an arbitrary 35%, after being on an arbitrary 20%. In one day we got to that first reward. That little ray of hope that should keep you going and waiting to see what happens next. And the play will progress on. Depending on how dramatic the author wants to be we might have to wait till the last day of the even to get that coveted 100%. But it will happen. Because nobody in the marketing department enjoys tragedy. The play will have a happy ending.

Now that I'm done with this, ask yourself: How bad will ZOS look if this event fails? Yeah, really bad. Bad to the point where noone even bothers to play their latest expansion. This will not fly with the suits and with the public. So lean back and enjoy the show. This is like wrestling where the results are already predetermined.

Given that this is a cross platform AND cross server event, as stated by Gina in the official thread, and considering we jumped 15% in just the first day, I think it may actually be possible.

Well we all know it's a good marketing, and yes it is a really good one. People feel connected doing something together and for the cause, the prices. They are going to sell a lot of copies of Summerset(nice Chapter though, I really like it) just because a lot of people want a "free" house. I want that too!

Also if we won't reach the top some won't stop there and pay for the Villa anyway.

Either way it is good for ZOS but bravo for the idea, it is actually really nice one. Give a bonus to whoever came up with the idea.

If the meter was a method of actually measuring progress, then no, I don't think we would make it. Counting all the people who already had the achievement, plus all the masses who rushed out and got it after the announcement = 35%? That's not great. I'd be willing to bet that we are somewhere around 50% of the people who will get the achievement have gotten it by now. If that 35% number was real, we'd fail by a good margin.

However, since there are no actual numbers or data, it's clearly just a marketing scam. We will finish at whatever % they have predetermined we will finish at. The real question is, is that number less than or equal to 100%?

"Oh no, you guys were so close to 100%! As a reward for your hard work, we will offer the house in the crown store with a 10% discount - this is largest discount we've ever had on this item! Aren't we the best!?!?"

The game (games in general, not just this one) has more trolls than most people realize. I simply do not believe the community will hit the mark. They will purposely not do it to “rebel against Zo$”. Sorta like how American Football players kneel before the National anthem. The protest makes little sense to anyone except those doing the protest and does even less to actually effect the “cause”.

I fully expect a forum fad to begin any day now “do not participate to show Zo$ we do not support the shield changes.”

Actually, I would laugh at the hashtag #shieldsmatters

I see it this way, Artaeum map is tiny, you do the main quest you do the delve, no more activities, no more returns to Artaeum.

This not only gives $$ to ZOS, buying incentive to newcomers, and an awesome free gift to the already summerset owners. This also gives a great value to an island so quickly inhabited by players.

Lots of interesting debates here. I agree that ZoS will just look bad if this event fails, so perhaps we are already guaranteed to succeed? Who knows.

As for when the meter updates, I think it updates everyday in the afternoon.

I don’t want to be negative about it, but I voted “Not Sure”. The reason being is that we started at 20% and that’s after the big push of Summerset 3 months ago when there were hundreds of people running around doing quests, getting the achievements, and exploring the new expansion. Now the newness has worn off, and the majority of people that wanted Summerset purchased it sometime ago.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m doing my part to help, like logging in a character on the EU server so they can do the pathfinder and add to the tally, but to tell you the truth, I’ll be damned surprised if we get the house at the end. I think we will get the mount however without any problem.

I am confused about this event, anyone who completed pathfinder will get rewards or is it just based on this Sumerfall Meter for entire eso sumerset owners to complete this achievement?

@ZOS_GinaBruno if this depends on meter then this event is simply bad designed!

Xbox EU here, done it on both EU and NA servers, creating toon and getting the achievement on NA take me one hour and a half, not rushing at all, only a tp to artaeum.
I was wondering, if I have summerset on my main Xbox, do all gamertags on this xbox has access to it? can't test atm.

Still thinking we won't make it, but doing my best.
