I'm back..

I posted this after seeing someone quitting... But I did quit over a year ago. My wife continued to play, I just had too much going on in RL. That being said, I have my gripes, and none of my gripes is about balancing. I know what to expect from the developers after playing WOW and everquest. It's to be expected that classes are buffed and nerfed. It's to keep the game new and changing without changing anything. It's the reason I played wow for 5 years and made so many characters. One gets nerfed you move on to another or you live with it and make it work. I loved when the warlock was considered the worst class, yet I'd be number 1 in BG or number 2 in DPS charts in BWL. "Lvl 60" what I'm trying to get to though... ADHD kicking in... Most of the complaints I read are about PvP. I'm in the frame of mind that PvP mechanics should be the same as the PvE mechanics. It doesn't feel that way with ESO. I'm not saying same abilities, I never chain feared Onyxia in wow... Saved that for the unkillable paladins. I loved watching those a-holes run in circles while the rest of my team killed his friends. Combat mechanics should be the same no matter where you are in the game. And if something is broken, it shouldn't be half fixed for PvP just to screw over pve or vs versa. It seems like someone makes a decision with only one thing in mind and screw the rest. Anywho how about them eagles huh? Dam lost last game... What was I saying? Oh I hate the trade system. It takes away from every experience in the game. It's not fun traveling all over the world to find a good deal. It pisses me off seeing craftable items for sale. Oh crap I was talking about balancing... I dislike having to use different gear to effectively PvP or pve. I quit WoW after they stated changing their system. Use to be that I could go bust out some raid's and farm tier 2 armour and go to the BG and own anyone my equal skilwise because I took the time to get the tier 2 gear. In ESO if you want to be geared out for PvP, that means no more pve. I'm not saying pvp gear should go, but that raid gear should be it's equal not inferior.

OK I'm finished with my rant. Real question is, should I buy summerset? Is it worth it? Annoyed I'm missing skills but otherwise I don't know.

Yes, summerset is the most visually stunning zone in the game

Probably not. Summerset is beautiful and there is Razum-Dar, but otherwise is lacking in all other ways.
Though I do admit I am not impressed by Altmers, and really more interested in more unconventional races like Dunmers, Khajiits and Argonians

Welcome back. Buy Summerset, you will run around going "pretty!!!". I got some good stuff out of the Psijic portals all around the rest of Tamriel as well after doing the quests :)
Ebonheart Pact, Nord Templar/healer on NA Xbox server. My main toon WAS a tall and foxy redhead - now she has been gamma-irradiated and has green skin and black hair. 3 other characters I only use for writs. Can't be bothered to create multiple toons - EXCEPT now my WW is getting spooled up for Cyrodiil - Blood For The Pact! IRL cranky sometimes redhead chick at large in Las Vegas, NV

I primarily PvP and whip through quests but Summerset has a few quests I actually read through.
The art competitors quest and the acting quest come to mind.

Yep. It's beautiful. And while I haven't done that much there yet, it seems like they've done a good job of having the side quests help flesh out the main story.

I personally enjoyed Summerset. The Psijic skill line adds some interesting new skills to play around with, nothing overpowered though. All in all I think the biggest draw to it is the storyline and zone. Don't feel like you have to get it. You wont be gimped without it, but if you have the cash to spare it offers more ESO to add to what is already there.

I think summerset is worth it. I enjoyed the storylines. New crafting, new mats, new types of dolmens and everything is so "pretty".

I finished all of it on my main. Found it engaging enough to do again on some alts. For me..wanting to do the quests all over again on a second character is what makes a good expac..replayability.

Morrowind was another one I did a few times completely.
Clockwork though I did once completely and then cherry picked what I wanted to do on others.

Summerset is on sale. I say yes get it if you like the PvE. For PvP don't have a clue what ESO has to offer. Also with getting a free pet, horse and hopefully house/mansion if the quests are completed from the community it could be fun for you.

It looks like you like PvE. Just make sure you know the rage going on with shields right now. Not sure if that will effect you or not. People who say not to get Summerset are just people who are upset with the nerfs going on right now. As you can see they don't give an explanation as to why not get it.

So make sure the nerfs/what ever this new PTS offers doesn't upset you or you are ok with it. If you like PvE then yes get Summerset. If you don't care for crafting rings or amulets and don't care for PvE then you don't really need Summerset.
