Worth coming back? Few questions (pve)

Hey. I stopped playing around Xmas, came back for few days just to rush through that Clockwork dlc they gave to people as a trial or something. I haven't experienced the whole game. I'm only cp263 magsorc. I haven't done any trials or the Gold Caldwell quests.

- what does endgame consist of? (Dungeons/dailies/farm/cosmetics?). What do you do once online (excluding Pvp. I suck at it)

- is leveling up worth it again? I have a NB, but might want to make another. Has the leveling changed or still the same? (And because I heard DW/bow is now viable as dps!!)

-Is Summerset(?) any good or wait for a sale (if I come back)

- have they Included sets that can't be crafted? For Sorc at the time it was either Necro (currently use) and Juliano's. It felt like dungeons didn't drop anything useful or worth doing.

This is for PS4.

    1. For end game, you can begin to do:

Writs - They are harder without Addons but it is still possible, when i was on console i used a notebook and wrote what i needed to craft
Veteran Dungeons - Once you hit around 300 cp i suggest trying a few veteran dungeons, maybe not DLC dungeons because they are much harder then normal dungeons.
Achievements - There's many achievements which give cosmetic rewards and there's some cool stuff coming around December. These will include skins and different costumes.
Developing Builds further - You can begin to get stronger sets from VMA and Veteran trials.
Housing - You can get a lot of gold and start making your own house, its very relaxing (You get a free huge house in the summer fall event)
    2. the new levelling system
Rewards- For each level you gain you will gain rewards, these will consist of costumes a mount and pets, you get gold from milestones as well.
It's fun to experiance different builds and types of classes, i have 5 wardens and for each one i do something different, Healer, tank, magicka dps, stamina dps and my pvp charecter
You can find loads of builds such as Alcast's builds: https://alcasthq.com/eso-most-recent-builds/ he provides a clear description of skills and sets you'll need.

    Summerset?
I personally loved summerset and with the new summerfall event, you'll be able to get a awesome looking mount and pet, also a huge house. It had a great story and i loved the psjic skill line.
However if you don't want it then don't get it.

    Dungeon sets?
There's loads of good overland/dungeon/trial sets. Some good overland sets include, Spinner's, Necropetence, Queen's Elegance.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask

EDIT: This is NOT all the stuff you can do end game.

At sub-300 cp you really don’t need to worry about anything truly “end game”. That said, writs can be a fun gold-making venture, and I recommend everyone have at least one solid crafting toon.

A solid dps build for sorc or magblade is burning spellweave on the body, with mothers sorrow staff/jewelry. BSW drops in City of Ash 1/2. Mothers sorrow is an overland drop set. Ideally you would have a vMA staff on the back bar, but if not use two set staves, both fire. Even end-gamers use this build in highly mobile fights. Stamblades are viable, but not for all content. The newer trials are not Stam-friendly.

Join some guilds in game. Do the quests, dungeons. You could even start normal trials.

I'd recommend doing some trials. Normal Hel Ra Citadel or Aetherian Archive are good starters. Head to Craglorn. Wait for someone to post in the chat they are looking for players to fill out slots in their group. You're probably going to want to go in as DPS as its the easiest. Once in the group, be sure to tell everyone you have never done it before so they know you (and others) might need assistance or instructions throughout the run. Might want to check out alcasthq.com first to see what skills and gear are recommended, too.

I did trials before trying out dungeons, only because I wanted to see what the group dynamics were first. Figured it was easier to hide my weaknesses in a 12 man group before moving onto a 4 man squad. Even though most of the dungeons are easier.

As for gear, there are a lot of new sets like Siroria's for magic DDs and Relequen for stam DPS in the Summerset trial, Cloudrest. But, you can always get the old stand-bys like VO, Healer, and IA in the Craglorn trials. Not a lot of useful overland sets to speak of in Summerset.

For me, PVE end game consists of trials progression. I feel that is the true "End game" of PVE. However PVE is what you make of it. You can work on tons of other achievements that could be either solo or group play, pledges, writs, farming for money, housing etc. Theres honestly tons to do no matter what your "shtick" is... Or you can do it all one goal at a time.
    • - is leveling up worth it again? I have a NB, but might want to make another. Has the leveling changed or still the same? (And because I heard DW/bow is now viable as dps!!)
Levelling is the same. Im not sure it was never NOT worth it to level your character, but I guess if you are only doing questing I can see why it is not necessary.

    • -Is Summerset(?) any good or wait for a sale (if I come back)
Summerset was fun for me. Gave a few unique skills that I enjoy and I really like the trial.

    • - have they Included sets that can't be crafted? For Sorc at the time it was either Necro (currently use) and Juliano's. It felt like dungeons didn't drop anything useful or worth doing.
The best crafted set is still julianos, however there are a lot of sets that are meta right now for all classes that are drop sets as well (mothers sorrow is very in right now, and burning spell weave. One drops from overland, one drops from a dungeon) another one, sirorias, drops from the trial in summerset.
Theres lots to do, i say best way to try it is to just log in and try!

Yes you haven't moved on either.

As for coming back what quests did you do? What didn't you do? I only PvE as well and while not high CP level I kept making new characters for new play styles.

I would say do the Caldwell's Silver and Gold quests you haven't done. That will give you more Skyshards and do quests when ever you see a black marker quest.

Summerset is on sale right now. So if you want it, get it. It's a BEAUTIFUL place. Also if you do the achievement quest that you visit all the eyeballs in Summerset depending on how many people do it, we get a free pet, horse and if 100% done, we get a free house/mansion. (not 100% people who bought it, but what ever the goal is set.)

Do you have Morrowind? If not you can get it through ESO+ since it's part of the DLC now. Not sure if you know that or not. You do have to buy the Warden separately though.

Hope this helps. If anymore questions please ask. I am finally just EXPLORING instead of trying to level or "game" the game. I made a new character and this character builds it's weapons and armour and potions and what not. I am not doing what people say I need to wait till the end to do it. I find I am having more fun than ever now in ESO.

So while you may not want to start a new character, how about you need to make your own armour/weapons or food? If not just explore and wonder away. I am loving exploring Morrowind this way now and the other parts of Tamriel I never saw before. Not rushing to finish quests. I did that with my main character and now felt a bit "rushed to soon and not smell the roses".

So wander out and SMELL THE ROSES. Just remember some of them might bite back. :pensive:

Also Murkmire is coming out as the new DLC soon. November?

Wait to see if the sorc nerfs go live. If so, sorc is going to be worse than trash tier, so you may as well level up a new (stam)character or not come back.

Or adapt, or maybe it will not effect him/her in PvE.

Curious why did the Original Poster leave in the first place. That way we can see if it's still the same or it has changed for him/her.

Mate, if you are asking the forums for this then prepare to be drowned in vitriol.

If you aren't a "one-topic voter," then the game is stellar. If you're one of the people who collectively loses their mind at any single change - then you'll probably have a bad time.

There's alot of forum rage right now about proposed and PTS changes to magicka shields (and the rage is warranted) - but as a result the forums are swarmed with "one-topic" voters who are going to tell you this is the worst game of all time over one grievance.

AndrejLeo above gave the best answer imo.

Many people who play eso PVE exclusively only come back for new DLCs. Have you done PVE content in cyrodil? There are quests and Delves there and if you go on one of the smaller campaigns you shouldn’t come across any/many players

So I keep seeing this and I really don't get it. I've ran a sorc for a few years now - never PVP mind you - but I've also never used damage shields. The only, ONLY time it's ever hurt me is in vet trials.

I really can't see how Sorc. is gonna go to trash tier. It's still gonna be the second hardest hitting DPS in the game aside only to NBs.

PVP and Trials will be the two biggest hits. Otherwise Sorc. will be fine for the needs of the vast majority of the PVE playerbase.

If you do return make stamina classes.
