Question on Armor Master set after Murkmire DLC

I see many topics on the shield changes with respects to mag sorcs and mag dk and mainly with PvP concerns. My concern is with armor master set and as a PvE tank, dose anybody know if you get the 5k additional resistance from armor master when you use the shield ability or do you get it after the new one second delay.

I'm downloading the PTS at the moment, and I've got a light armor tank with just that kind of build. I'll let you know once I can log on.0 -
DCanadianBacon✭✭✭Can confirm, you must wait for the cast time to finish before you get the Armor Master buff.
Also, you can't block cast Harness Magicka either. RIP light armor tank builds for PvE. ZoS has not only gutted an entire class for PvP, but they also killed an entire playstyle for light armor tanking.Edited by DCanadianBacon on September 18, 2018 11:37PM3 -

It's called a 'playstyle' for a reason. Light armor tanks typically run more magicka for shields, and Harness Magicka was a key ingredient to that playstyle. Sure, I could run Fortified brass, but how's that going to help the light armor pet sorc tanks or light armor Templar tanks for veteran dungeons (not trials, I'm aware you need better set ups for that). Armor Master used to be a very fun set, but it's been all but gutted now with the many changes to armor skills, both past and presently in the PTS.
So now, instead of having a couple options for gear sets, now there really only one in this case.
Diversity was something that ZoS seemed to want to embrace with their changes, yet they've only served to pigeon whole and homogenize anything unique about creative builds that were viable for certain content. Not everyone is all about making Meta builds and crunching the numbers (I'll leave that to the leaderboards and vet trial guilds).
