Alcast new video: Magsorcs just got deleted

Alcast is a famous, multiple classes top PvE player, member of Hodor and more.
He's also the guy who streamed a blind Dark Souls run (first time he ever seen the game) and completed 2 hours of it! Yeah the same game most quickly just give up because of how difficult it is.

Now, Alcast has just posted a video where he lists a number of reasons why, if the nerfs go through, magsorcs are DEAD. R.I.P.

Some of his clearly not "politically correct" quotes in the video:

"Death sentence for sorcs".
"I don't know who thought this was a good idea".
"Who comes up with this kind of ideas".
"In PvP you'll be mostly dead before you cast the shield".
"This is really not the right way to balance sh***".
"This would completely destroy magsorc in PvP and it won't be fun any more to play in PvE".
"This is a really, really bad change".
"I really don't know who the sh** came off with this change. Definitely somebody who does not play the game, that's for sure".

I made 4 magsorcs in the past 6 months...

maybe i should do like some of you folks and just keep 2 versions of each class instead of making stuff i have fun with.

That explains why I couldn't place it lol, he's picked up a touch of German accent which was confusing the hell out of me.

He seems to know his *** so I'll have to take a gander at some more of his vids, I usually ignore any streamer/youtuber since most of them are hot garbage but he seems to be in the minority that actually knows what's what.

I respect Alcast's knowledge of the game and love his content, but sometimes I do wish he'd turn down the drama on issues a little as he has a lot of followers who take everything he says literally.

Will have to give this a full watch when I get back tonight, it should be entertaining.

Almost every class has gone through a rough patch where they got the old headstone laid out for them for a while.

This really isn't any different. Hopefully, It will pass faster than some others.

Funny how everyone says its just noob Sorcs crying on here, learn to adapt etc etc - then Alcast speaks and boom they STFU.

Its not rocket science to see how BAD these changes are. And how it completly undermines the Class Rep program totally that they disregard the feedback there on whats needed a land a ton of crap no one asked for wrecking wards / overload / rune cage / defence cage etc.

Still no CC sorted or streak fixed or Frag's back lol

Four out of my 6 characters will be crafters after this patch. They already turned my WW Stamsorc into one (and with the changes to Dark Deal she's definitely staying as one) and my magDK (will be the least affected by the changes but still taking a hit), magden (completely destroyed by the changes) and healer NB are about to follow in her footsteps. At least the magden and NB have major exped the DK won't even be worth logging in to slowly move around on.

While I agree with you, I still think there will be those who discount Alcast because of various reasons.

I mean, even Fengrush couldn't get the forum to rally behind him.

I also hope. They do revert the cast change to all targeted shields, because it is negative change to all magicka classes. There are other ways to balance shields and shield stacking imho.

1. I don't mind shields themselves getting some sort of nerf or change. It *IS* silly that my clothy mag sorc can basically tank a boss just like a full heavy plate tank.

***HOWEVER***

Adding cast time is *NOT* the answer. He is 100% right. Cast times feel bad in this game. its like going from 100 to 0 in a second during a rotation <And I am talking about all cast time based skills>. It feels clunky and doesn't really support the actiony style combat system.

A simple change could have the same effect but allow us to instant cast our shields when we hit those moments.

1. Add a spell lockout for 1 second. You cast a shield and boom for 1 second you can't recast. Simple. Same effect but doesn't hurt combat flow.
2. This one a guildy talked about: Each cast increases the mana cost of the spell <Similar to sorc blink>. 1st cast = base cost - 2nd cast X2 - 3rd X3 - etc. So in theory you can spam, but only so much.

Speaking of cast time.

Can we get a dark deal revamp to remove that stupid cast time? I wouldn't mind instant cast with cost but over time it grants HP/Stats. Would be fun to fit it into a rotation and /shocker help sustain out.
