ZOS are based in EST time zone, and they do the server maintenance first thing in their work day. That includes BOTH EU and NA servers, by the way - so it doesn't matter how many people crap up the NA servers from other regions - that's completely irrelevant. They aren't going to wait until all of their employees are on lunch break (6 hours later) to do server maintenance.I feel like every single maintenance that takes place is in the Australian prime time, this current one is 6pm for me.
I work during the day so I get home around 6pm to the game being in maintenance at least once a week (mostly started at my 4pm), they last around 3-4 hours which means that my entire evening is maintenance until about an hour or two before I need to go to bed.
This means I (and probably a lot of other Australian players) lose several days of playtime each month.
I suggest that since the NA server is used by more than just NA players, it is only fair to have a variation in the maintenance times.
Just move it 6 hours ahead or earlier than the week before and everyone can be happy!
Cheers

why does mainteneance have to be every week
"A few"? Do you think Australia is only the size of a small town, or something? So they should inconvenience many to cater to a few? Nah.

No matter what time they do maintenance, they're going to inconvenience someone, somewhere, but maybe they can search for some time that will inconvenience the fewest people possible. Then again, as it's a world-wide game, maybe this is literally the best they could do regarding maintenance times.

That's not actually why though. They do it based on their own working hours. It has nothing to do with who's prime time it is or isn't. ZOS is based in EST, they do maintenance when workday starts in EST.

Im sure that both the US prime time and the zos employee schedules has something to do with it. I don't think it sounds plausible that ZOS would actually do 3 or more hours of maintenance in US prime time if zos employee schedule demanded it
Can't you just skive off? Some example you're setting, you should be proud to be a bad influence!Actually here in Hong Kong I just got through repairing the house, (all internet knocked out except my phone) after the typhoon on Sunday, thought I'd log on and make sure I get my 100,000 gold and...., and now I have to get to bed early as I have to go to work with bus services limited tomorrow thanks to trees on the roads. I'm just going to cuddle my loved one instead and be sat on by still-scared khajiits. Yeah, ZOS maintenance sucks some days.
Isn't Zos based in the states? If so, your prime time is their work day. Get used to it
