    I would stress more if the possible changes mentioned in PTS patch notes were 100% confirmed to hit live

    It's the fact that they would even THINK about a change like this, let alone let it go through to the pts for "testing". Even if this doesn't make it to live, the fact that they would even consider it makes me worry for ESO's future

    Honestly, i don't see the stress for PvE. They will have resistances and no crits. And sorcs get a HOT (at the cost of burst sustain for PvP)

    Sorcs anyway i think have most changes steered for pve over PvP.

    I feel the same , 1 sec shield cast time has no problem in VMA , especially to sorc .

    You guys do realize that stam can roll dodge at will in oh *** moments. For mag users the shield is for our oh *** moment. If we have to sprint at all, most of the time there is not enough stam to roll dodge. Stam and mag both need an oh *** escape ON DEMAND. And mags has just been taken away. Talking PVE here btw

    And I'm mainly talking about big "one-shots" from hard hitting enemies or bosses that need to be shielded or dodged.

    This is not a way to make healers viable again as I see some people suggesting in other threads. The only thing this does is make a bunch of mag dps get one-shot all the time, which no amount of healing can save you from

    They nerfed shield duration way back when, people blew up about it. It went live.

    The nerfed resource sustain, people blew up about it and a majority of endgame raiders quit. I personally had 3 very active trials guilds, they died overnight. Guess what, it still went live.

    This is probably going to go live.

    I know 186 damage nerfed :)

    have all weapons , the only useful is the resto pve only

    whiteborn set nice for my ice warden , can get easy normal mode

    Has anything that received backlash ever NOT made it to live? Generally most people see PTS as a big joke where they can stomp around in the new content... don't think any PTS players actually believe their feedback is of any use to the devs because time and time again they drop steaming turds into live DESPITE thread after thread of backlash during PTS.

    General rule of thumb: If it's in PTS, then it's confirmed for live.

    Not really life threatening to all mag toons - especially not staff users. Now that we have 5/5/2 Monster Set builds for magicka toons, there's virtually no reason to choose VMA staves over a proper set.

    At the end of the day it's 2 bonuses (4th and 5th bonuses at that) vs the VMA weapons, and in almost all cases the 2 set bonuses will far exceed the value of the VMA bonus. 189 Spell Damage + The 387 bonus to attacks on Wall of Elements afflicted enemies is nothing compared to other combos.

    VMA has been less than desirable for some time now, but especially after the slotting changes which make Staffs way more valuable to sets than before. Since you ideally want you shoulder/helmet to be Monster, that leave 10 slots for two 5 piece sets... I'd rather rock 5/5/2 than 5/3/2 + VMA any day.

    umm, original poster asked why you would need a vMA weapon....it's far from just that little stat bonus LOL

    and not needing vMA weapons anymore? Uh, no. They are still very much needed for top dps. I'd really like to see what kind of dps you get without one

    5/3/2 + vMA? You do know that the vMA bonus carries over to frontbar right? always use 5/5/2 with a vMA backbar for pve dps, especially when there are proc sets in the game (like burning spellweave and ravager) that can still be active while on backbar

    While the shield nerf undoubtedly hit magicka classes quite hard, once the dust settles, the change may turn out to be what the game needed. Power creep has been a problem for a while now. Even with the nerf, completing vMA will still be way easier than when the arena launched. Players beat it back then, and they’ll still be beating it in three months. The sky isn’t falling, it’s just a new day.

    I appreciate people tryung to have a positive outlook. But this completely changes the gameplay for mag users.

    I for one, among many other will be quitting the game if the cast time goes live. I really love the game, but I just can't with this.

    Do people expect the Test Server of ESO to be different than other test servers? Test Servers aren't about user feedback. Test servers are for going into live content with updated content and making sure it isn't breaking something they specifically need to test in a live environment. Sure, they gather stats. But they are looking at specific information they want to see... not about user feedback. Users gain a benefit because they can try it out ahead of time. It doesn't provide them an avenue of saying, "We don't want this!"

    As always... just be glad there is a test server. Many games just get live updated content.

    It's been a long while since I touched a VMA weapon, didn't even know that was taken away. I'll be forced to admit I'm wrong if so.

    EDIT: and so it has... I was on a year long hiatus between Morrowind and Summerset - and it happened between then. Damn.

    I read the patch notes and I didn't see a thing about vma/masters weapons getting their damage back.

    They didn't. I just pulled a bacon. I didn't realize those bonuses were ever even removed. He was passively calling out my stupidity with sarcasm. Rightly so.

    Yah VMA will be easier before the patch and there are good weapons to be had for pve Dps as well as pvp niche builds.
