what I'd like to see, is zos employees playing vet dungeons with whatever damn build they want, and have fun, and come somewhere close to completing it.

I don't care how long it takes them. I don't care if they reach a scoreboard score. I don't give a furry rat's behind if they have a designated tank, if he's running ebon and alkosh, or blah blah blah blah blah.

If you can clear vet content with a decent amount of work, with any build and combo of builds you like, and not be a jerk while doing it, then you win, and we all win.

Yes, maybe the sorc is getting tooled - I dunno - I play mild pvp and pve with my own sorc, and I haven't got the slightest clue what people are talking about when they're talking about shields, and I have fun with my sorc. truth be told, I'm not sure I have a shield "build" on my sorc (although he's actually a dedicated crafting alt, so all of his sorc combat skills are secondary anyway), and I still have fun playing with him on normal dungeons and vet dungeons with guildies.

so yah - maybe your shields are getting nerfed to the point that they'll no longer work with the current meta. Maybe you'll have to start building heavy armor sorcs? that'd be kinda cool - kinda different...

I'm personally sick of the "I've labored long and hard to build this one very niche super-synergized build, and you just f-ed up my synergy - DAMN YOU ZOS!!!" - don't get me wrong, I DESPISE zos, although mostly for marketing reasons, and not for development reasons - stop relying so heavily on your super-precisely-knife's-edge-balanced-builds, and build some builds with...I dunno - a little flexibility, a little versatility - you don't HAVE to maximize, and not being married to the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM DPS AT EXPENSE OF ANY OTHER FEATURE means you can build a couple of heals, dodges, whatever into your sorc build - or any other class for that matter

I LIKE it when a game encourages multi-purpose builds...I like it when a game encourages thematic builds that do roughly the same effect, just in a slightly different aesthetic way - I don't feel that any ONE feature has to be "superior" to some other feature or build to be "viable"...

*sigh* - my point is, since you asked - I don't think the shield nerf is the end of the world for sorcs - I think sorc players are going to gain something - namely, the opportunity to build something non-traditional and unexpected and possibly fun and versatile - while at the same time, losing EXACTLY ONE possible playstyle

if you like shields, if you REALLY WANT a build with shields - you can still do it - it's just not going to be as effective as it used to be - or, you are now FREE to experiment with some other builds - you might even say you're being FORCIBLY "ENCOURAGED" to experiment with other builds

it's not the end of the world, unless your whole world revolves around EXACTLY ONE way to play
