you know... I have to wonder about this. becasue I'm selling like hotcakes on PC NA (mats sell in minutes, random furnishing blueprints and motifs can take a few hours to a day or two, which is expected. I still have to replenish listings daily). yes, the guild I'm in is also asking for raffle participation, but that's becasue competition for our trader location is very VERY fierce and trader fees are THAT expensive.

but the interesting thing is.. I'm also selling fairly well in my non trading guild that just happens to keep one of those middle of nowhere traders most of the weeks.

so my theory is... assuming that your guild is in a high traffic location - your trading guild guildies are habitually overpricing things compared to normal market values, so people who shop often, remember that and stop checking your guilds trader, becasue its a waste of time. or even if they ARE still checking the trader, they are not buying, cause prices are too high compared to other traders.

I guess I could agree with you, BUT. Bet you knew a BUT was coming. Other than my main Guild (Grievance) I have replaced the other 4 (more than once, but a few times) and get same results. Yet, all 5 Guilds act like no one is playing, other than a few people. Which is why the revolving Guilds are doing the same, asking for raffle gold to attempt to keep Guild Traders alive.

So maybe you could let us players on PC NA the names of Guilds you are in that have major positive selling so the rest of us can too.

I still believe to get a fair AH, Zenimax needs to be running the AH. Not only so updating is more reliable but also concerning security or cheating issues.

consider for a moment that your prices are too high. also a possibility - your sales expectations are much higher then mine? my typical sales numbers are between half a mil and 800k which for me is as much as I can handle. I'm not a super high volume trader, i just sell of excess of stuff I got from my regular play. there are many a week where i do not make it into top 25 traders list, and some weeks where I do. I tend to price competitively - either at most current MM price (a margin of a week or less for most recent sale) or something in between recent MM price and looking at TTC averages and eyeballing from there.

there was a point where my sales were slow, but that point has passed and they are back up again.

that said. TTC just collects data. if ZoS were running something similar? guess what - the only thing that would change is the speed of listing updates. there would STILL be people trying to manipulate listing averages. how do I know? becasue they do that in every single MMO with AH that I have personaly ever played.

In my experience it's very hit or miss with a stronger emphasis on miss. I'm not in any trading guilds and I don't shop very often. More often than not the item is no longer there at multiple locations. It can be useful sure but overall it's best to just check traders you're nearby before porting all over Tamriel.

If you don't use it, you're gimping yourself. Actively discouraging other people to gimp themselves isn't likely to meet with much success.

You can't expect something like this to update in real time, from the client side, nor from the server side. While the owner might make some income from ad revenue, I sincerely doubt it's enough to pay for the server lease, let alone the bandwidth it would require to realtime update.

TTC works like a champ for almost everything. You must be doing it wrong.

TTC is an incredible time saver and arguably the best community tool in this game. OP is just salty that someone else bought the good deal first.

Whenever you search on TTC, make sure to filter by "last seen". It greatly increases the likelihood of you finding the item when you get to the trader.

You can go ahead and spend 2 hours searching for an item manually across Tamriel or you can find it in 5 minutes with TTC. The choice is yours.

This, TTC has two uses one is to get an price estimate on rarer stuff with few or none items in guild stores or even master merchant making it easy to get an price estimate.
The other is finding rare items, anything from overland sets to blueprints and furniture.

Another obvious use it to play the marked but has not done that myself, only buying some stuff who are very under-priced.

There's nothing "doubling down" about saying that it has never saved me any hassle that simply going to those traders in the first place wouldn't have. The addon and app carry deficiencies that keep it from being useful to me. People want the placebo, they can have it. I simply don't.

Learn to use it then. If you run for the cheapest item like everybody else you obviously won't get it unless it's something undesired.

Simply add a max price you are willing to pay and search by highest price. You won't pay more than you want to even if you probably won't get the cheapest, but you save yourself a whole bunch of headache and running around.

I also would like to say I have and could deal with the bots running wild in the game. Also the other little bugs we have had to live through from beta on. I could always calm down and keep supporting the game. In the long run, I had to admit I started to see the direction the developers were going to fix the game. I also admit it isn't easy once a game of this type was created. It just isn't your run of the mill MMO. But if I can't make my Gold through the Guild Stores any longer that creates the biggest hole we have seen in the game.

So I really wish Zenimax would open up and have a dialogue with us about this addon and issues it is causing in the game.

Occasionally I'd go looking for an item in whatever town I happened to be in, get reminded that most of what I (a low level, casual player) want to buy isn't what makes a lot of gold so hardcore trading guilds who can hold those spots don't stock much. I'd think about trawling the wilderness for random traders hoping to stumble across a useful item and just give up.

Now I can go to a trader and at least know they had the item recently, and how much it's going to cost, and if it's not there I have a list of other options.

Honestly, it would have to be a pretty rare item for me to think about using TTC at this point. I find everything just fine in the major cities (faction capitols, Vivec, Alinor, etc) and what I consider "secondary" cities, like those of Marbruk, Daggerfall, Skywatch, etc. Most the items I've ever searched for had multiple false listings (not present at trader), and the update deficiencies are still enough to see TTC as a waste of time for most things since I have more success just going to common traders.

It works great just have to be aware of the time of listing...after all you aren't the only one looking to buy an item geez.

Also most people don't scan the traders so the info isn't always up to date.

Okay, the simple answer is, we don't need the 5 Guild setup anymore. Just use TTC to only find what you need to buy at the cheapest price. Right now it's impossible to scan all Guilds to see what you should be pricing items for. Which if you don't do a complete scan of ALL Guilds you will never be able to post items to sell at a faster pace. Because the majority of players just use TTC to buy the cheapest price they can get. So it affects how you can make GOLD from the items you put up for sale.

We need to be able to scan the whole market if TTC is allowed to stay in the game. If they take TTC out then most players will stick more with their 5 Guild setup.

Get it now???

It's a quirk of how the system works. There's no direct API access to every publicly listed trader. So the Addon compiles data from searches while you're running around. Except, there's no API access to allow an addon to connect to a remote server. (A pretty obvious security feature; keeps people from pushing malware addons to harvest data from your system.)

TTC gets around this by harvesting the data from an external .exe, and that uploads data out to the TTC server. Now... if someone buys something, they need to have the .exe running to update the server. If they're not using TTC at all, or simply not running the client, the server never gets updated until someone who IS running the client searched for that item in that store.

There's some other quirks, because of how it works, which can result in multiple clients reporting the same item as present multiple times. And, stuff can stick around after it's sold.

On the whole? It's useful as a quick guide. But, it's not a panacea or simple fix.

The relies on TTC being dependable and up to date in real time. It isn't. However, trade guilds aren't the only reason to have more than one guild, so even if I agreed with your premise, I disagree with your conclusion.

You're doing it wrong. Don't filter by price...filter by time and find the lowest in the last 30 minutes. If it looks like a steal then likely someone else felt the same way...

I find master merchant to be very accurate if you have at least two good sized trade guilds to go off of. Never liked TTC.
