Thanks! I was wearing Torugs/Alkosh and so was the other tank changing on Z'Maja. Not too sure about the OT but he had comparatively lower health with an ulti build.

So the Baneful Mark (health debuff/damage) goes out to the 6 closest people to Z'Maja. As a main tank aggro'ing her, you can outrange the Baneful Mark. There is of course a timing to it and I'm pretty sure it's per Crushing Darkness. Liofa the class rep from Tank Discord explains it pretty well:

"Right. So what I do is apply taunt wait 4-5 seconds heroic slash, and move away
Like, really away
Keep up your crusher with staff light attacks or blockade
Wait for the debuff
When it happens, use a buff that lasts around 20 seconds
On a DK, Green Dragon Blood is very decent as it lasts 23 seconds
When you see there are 4-5 seconds left on it, move away again
Wait for the debuff
As soon as it happens, cast Green Dragon Blood again
So it is your timer for the debuff
That's how I do it, without fail"

As you notice in our video, the main tank really goes far away but I think he was just playing really safe, you don't really have to go that far to avoid Baneful Mark. Usually if you're a good maybe 20-22 meters away ingame, you should be fine as long as people aren't dead and the Baneful Mark targets you instead.

But if you do get Baneful Mark, Lingering Health/Major Vitality/Dragon Blood/Igneous helps a lot along with a Blood Altar synergy (I highly recommend 2 people run Blood Altar for execute as the synergy has a cap of 6 people and that it be refreshed before the duration is up, probably about 18-20 seconds remaining).
