tbh i find it kinda funny watching them
have even gone to the trouble of showing it to noob friends who havent seen it, they thought it was bizarre / funny too0 -

1. They make it harder to complete quests if the mobs they’re killing count towards quest completion.
2. They make it impossible to loot resource nodes if they’re camped at them 24/7.
3. They’re breaking the TOS regularly and getting away with it, while legitimate players have been banned or reprimanded for way less.
4. They contribute to inflated guild trader bids by selling gold for real money to GMs who can’t stand the thought of other GMs getting “their” spot.
5. They drive down the cost of crafting items and make it harder for traders who don’t farm with multiple accounts 24/7 to make profits.
Just a few reasons I can think of off the top of my head...

Literally everything botters do is deleterious to the game and its players. They distort and depress the player based economy at all levels, they scam and expose their customers to theft, they increase server load, they interfere with people actually trying to play the game, they foster an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust... it goes on and on.Edited by pauli133 on September 16, 2018 11:21AM12 -

I have been steadily reporting bots for the last couple weeks in a single zone and after the first weekend, the turnaround time on the bots disappearing is 24hrs or less (NA PC). Whether it's because they're resetting their accounts or getting banned, I don't much care. Some days have been bot-free but it's never just one - if there's one, there's three. It takes resources that I want, it takes up player slots on a server, some of us don't mind going out of our way for a couple seconds to report, and it's against TOS. What I don't understand is the efforts by some folks to tell us it's a waste of time. If what we're doing is a waste of time to you, how do folks like you consider posting in these threads and in zone chat a better use of your time? It's weird. All the same things making us report are all the same things making people tell us not to bother... *shrug*

✭@ezio45 Multiple people (including myself) responded to you on the last thread about bots where you posted about how they're funny and not hurting anyone. I guess you did not read those responses, because you are here again asking why people are bothered by "funny" bots. I really hope you read the informative responses from @Aurielle and @pauli133 so in the future you don't have to ask why they're a problem.
Sure, it might be amusing to see big groups of pet sorcs firing synchronized heavy attacks into the same spots over and over again, but the massive bot farms are not without consequences to actual players.Edited by weedgenius on September 16, 2018 10:45PMPS4 NA
