I agree the smaller zones can be great, Hews Bane is probably my favourite zone in the game. The issue I have is Murkmire was originally going to be a full sized area, just a bit disappointed.

My favorite place to do crafting writs on all chars is Velyn Harbor.
All crafting stations are very close to each other.
Also, there are other useful features, like: bank and outlaws refuge.
Furthermore, it is pretty quiet and not crowded.
I consider Velyn Harbor as the best place to do crafting writs.

I'll prolly stick to Mournhold and Alinor. I am glad they put the guildtraders near the wayshrines in the last few dlcs/chapters, unlike Abah's Landing and Orsinium.

lately i've been using the guild house, and it's more convenient. I can tp there from anywhere, and all crafting stations with bank and vendor are right at the entrance, far from just a few seconds of teleport away.

So its not surprising that Murkmire took them this long to go back and overhaul as well. Honestly I wouldnt be complaining, a lot of companies would of never wasted resources on reworking unreleased content. Theyd have trashbinned it and never spoke of it again.

Judging by the map they showed during ESO Live vs. the datamined map, they DID trashbin it, they just cannabalized the name like they've done with other assets.

Makes me wonder if we'll ever see the old Mirkmire landmass included. Some of that was (probably) developed at one time, and I'd love to see that area along the Cyrodiilic border explored some day.

I'd say that will be the Argonian Chapter one day with maybe some little extra additions

    Murkmire is so tiny. :'(

What did people expect? It's about the same size as other DLC zones, Hew's Bane, Gold Coast, Clockwork City.

Expected it to be bigger with the same amount of quests as the smaller zones... Not as big as but something along what Cyrodiil is a big zone with stuff spread out instead of condensed, lots of foot/mount travel. Part of the size expectation comes from this having been started so long ago and this having supposed to be another Craglorn type zone. Guessing now whatever they worked on got split and we will eventually get the other half as another small DLC zone.

Now I'm most excited about how close stuff is to the shrine, I hope it is better than rawl'kha. I'm so lazy lol.

I've been using Vivec City ever since it came out. Less people and it has an outdoor bank. The crafting stations are even more densely packed too. My primary trader is still in Rawl'kha though.

Thanks for the info. I have never actually looked around apart from using the guild traders :)

I'm excited because I was playing a game where my race/faction got next to nothing. They focused on a select few factions and ignored the rest. They would dangle our content on a string and say we really want to do this, but no. They were biased as hell compared to ZoS. At least on hereZoS try to give everyone something.

With MH, my issue is the bank location. It's far away from the wayshrine, on the second floor of some huge building.

With Alinor, the crafting area is on the opposite end of the city from the wayshrine and other services.

The wayshrine can be reached in under 20 seconds.
15-20 seconds riding distance and about 20 seconds loading screen and I can get to guild traders in less than a minute :)

Well if you think about it most of the Argonian population is underwater in their underwater cities.

Why else would they have an increased swim speed?

I just can't wait until ZoS implements underwater raids. :p

There are crafting stations in Alinor? O_o

Oh wait yeah there are. So far from the wayshrine I never even remember they exist lol. I'll stick to Mournhold. Can deliver Master writs together with the regular daily writs. Vivec is more convenient due to the bank but there's no Master Writ drop point there, so....

Lilmoth does look like a nicely packed city though. No point in something being big if it'll only result in players having to ride everywhere because all interest points are scattered about. Personally I'm all for small areas. CWC for example is already too big for my tastes. Having to cross that polluted wasteland all the time when running dailies is a pain.

Outlaws refuge is nowhere near the shrine though, looks like it's all the way across the city. Both entrances.

And from the assumption that they've been working on this for longer than other DLC - which is, I think, not the case. Whatever they worked on got shelved for a few years, and then reworked into a smaller, tighter zone like the other post-Wrothgar DLCs. I doubt they chopped off a useable amount of stuff.

    ---

Mournhold has a very inconvenient cooking fire, the bank is quite far away, and half the stuff is indoors. Vivec is vastly superior for just writs. (Its outfitting station is halfway across the map behind two doors, though.)
It is also vastly superior for buying stuff from Jena Calvus. ;D

I've tried all the other crafting areas in the cities. None of them are as well planned or convenient for me as Vivec. Lovely circular route, not bajillions of people (well, I craft really early morning US MT - YMMV!) I'd love to move everyone to Elden Root, but I don't find it as convenient at all. Just don't really like any of the other cities either, so as a choice for me, it's Vivec over Elden Root simply because the layout fits me better.

As for Lilmoth? I don't like Argonians, I don't like any of the areas already associated with them, and I'm not going to mess with Murkmire.

Your loss, missing out on content because of stupid reasons. People on these forums are ridiculous, what you think I refused to do the Telvanni quest line because of slavery? It was actually pretty good, blows my mind how sad, hateful, and biased some of the people on here are.

Whether it will just be temporary access or permanent remains to be seen.
