WTH is the issue with Gold Transmute Geodes being wasted?!?!?!

Why would a 50 stone geode be wasted if you have less than 50 space to collect it? I had 196 stones and it looted the freaken thing for 4 stones (wasting 46 stones)....what the hell is up with that? None of the other geodes waste like that!

don't open them just keep it in inventory until you need it, i've had close to 400 in inventory at one time, among all 15 of my toons

Well, you can only have 200 in inventory at a given time?

yes...i agree with the replies...but the other gems don't allow you to extract them if you don't have the room for the gems...wth is up with the gold one allowing you to use it for any amount of gems? I didn't even think I hit the extract key...I was just looking to see how many were in it and next thing I know I extract 4 from a 50 geode...bunch of crap :p

Isn't there a warning when you open geode if you have more than 150 crystals? Or is it one of my addons?

No... Maybe an add-on but the other geodes don't extract if you don't have room.... If I had 196 crystals and a purple daily geode with 5 crystals it won't allow it to be extracted... WHY Would the gold be different?

    A. I don't even think I hit extract... I think I viewed it and it extracted... But I might have 2. I think you missed the point... Why would the gold geode work differently than any other geode that doesn't allow extraction if you don't have the space?!

I've done this myself, and it should have a warning stating you're over your cap.

I don't see why that should be so hard for the people baiting in here right now.

It just should have a hard stop like every other geode does

The underlying issue is the fact that it's capped at 200. That is simply too low. If there was a cap (imo there shouldn't be), it should be something like 500.

Whilst I agree with you in principle, just want to point out: the gold geode works EXACTLY the same as others.

I have gone over cap on a lesser purple geode in the past.

(Which is where I learned this lesson).

I'm almost positive I was unable to extract a geode when I didn't have space... I'm going to bed... But I'll verify tomorrow...actually... I am positive I have not been able to extract geodes because I was full... I had a bunch I couldn't open or clear till I freed up space... So there definitely is difference

OK, but I'm sorry to say you recall incorrectly.

Its been discussed here on the forums before that transmute stones over the cap are lost.

Real bummer to lose them on a gold, for sure.

But the geodes all work the same.

    ouch

    That sucks ; ;

It should at least give you a warning or something. Better: would be just to increase the amount you can store. 100 or 200 is too low, especially considering how hard those geodes are to store.

It works the same for all geodes. It only stops you extracting if you're actually at cap and this is the same for the gold 50 ones too. In that case, you can't even open them to see how many they contain. The only exception is things like trial rewards where the the crystals aren't the only thing in the container. Then if you take all, you lose the crystals even if you're at cap. You need to take everything else, then the container will start behaving like a normal geode. Very flawed system!

Edited because it's way too early!

I apologise... That probably is what I'm recalling (being at full capacity) i remember not being able to open the geodes... For sure a flawed system and for sure the limit should be raised.

Capped currency is... I don't want to say it is BS... but it kinda is.. It makes a lot of people screwed - especially those who play only one character (non - alto-cholics). I always thought it was one of those game design decisions that serves only making basic stuff (such as inventory management) more tedious (unless you pay a fee to fix this and use eso+ ) - 100 cap for regular player, 200 cap for ESO+.

This is exactly why I don't like where the game is going with premium account. Slowly it is being balanced around ESO+ rather than what a regular players get. Keep in mind that it is still a buy-2-play game.
    Capped currency is one thing.
Another symptom is that w currently have about 234 crating mats (if you will keep them only with one stack & only top tier crafting materials). 234 slots while default bank space is 240.
Another 2 DLC and you will be kinda forced to use either ESO+ or tedious item swapping between bank - housing storage - alts just to do your basic, daily crafting writs.

I very much dislike having an artificial limit imposed on things that I've legitimately earned. It's easy enough to stockpile geodes if you really want to so a cap does nothing but create an inconvenience and unnecessary inventory management.

The idea behind the cap is to stop people being able to transmute whatever they want instead of farming and it fails spectacularly at that - I transmute much more than I otherwise would because I need to make space to open all the green, blue and purple geodes that aren't worth storing.

Game should be balanced around ESO+ TBH, because it should never have gone B2P in the first place

I feel your pain, brother. It's kinda dumb that we can't sell them, bank them, or trade them.

However, here's something else: I like to have "spare sets" of jewelry for some of my set pieces. I'll transmute some of the jewelry with different traits for testing (ie: Bloodthirsty, Triune, Harmony, and Swift) just to tailor my character for swapping between PVE/PVP gameplay.

So, if you ever have extra pieces of jewelry- maybe use some of those excess geodes to transmute. That way- you can keep your count low. Any time that I reach 150 geodes when opening up Rewards for the Worthy- I transmute something.
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.
