Treasure maps and character level

Hello, quick question here:
If I open a treasure chest located via a map does the level of my character effect the level of the item(s) found or is it based on the region it's located in? I just received my pack of maps and was wondering if it would be smarter to go hunt them down with my higher level toon as the items will tend to be useful longer?

✭Mostly dependant on where you are, not your lvl. Some is triggered by lvl but most is affected on the lvl of the mobs around you and the loot form chest and etc will be around that lvl.Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.
